Went with 2 vegan friends and tried most of the small plate options between us on the 5 for £30 deal. (We got 10 between us)

Amazing vegan food - Edit
Lovely vegan food!! Perfect for a special occasion. We went on a Sunday night and it was virtually empty. Service was good and the interior of the restaurant is nice. We shared two starters (including miso mushrooms which are amazing) and we got the winter sharing platter (would definitely recommend) and we shared all three desserts (the sticky toffee pudding was lovely)

Anniversary Afternoon Tea - Edit
We visited The Allotment to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and were excited to try their vegan afternoon tea. Sadly, it didn’t meet my expectations, especially after seeing some nice photos online.
Read moreThe sandwiches were bigger than I expected and had hummus and avocado, which aren’t my favorites. The cauliflower wings didn’t really suit my taste either. On the bright side, the cakes and scones were delicious and definitely the best part.
Even though the food wasn’t exactly what I hoped for, we had a lovely time. The weather was nice, so we sat outside, and the staff were really friendly, which made the experience better.
Overall, it was a pleasant visit, but the options weren’t quite to my taste.
Pros: Lovely Outdoor Seating, Friendly Staff

Mixed Experience - Edit
The venue was really nice and inviting, but the service left something to be desired.
Read moreFood: The small plates were indeed quite small, and you’d need at least four to feel satisfied. The tofu Laksa was a highlight, even though they had run out of rice. They kindly substituted it with flatbread, which was a nice touch. The dessert was lovely and a great way to end the meal.
Service: Despite the restaurant not being busy (only three tables of two), the staff were not very attentive. It took a while to get their attention for dessert and the bill, especially once a party of ten arrived.
Overall: While the food was enjoyable and the atmosphere pleasant, the service and portion sizes were disappointing for the price. I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t rush back.
Pros: Tasty food, Lovely venue
Cons: Small portions for the price

Afternoon Tea - Edit
I came for a birthday afternoon tea with my Mum. The Cauliflower wings were a great addition to afternoon tea and the cakes and scones were delish 😍 the sandwiches however were all quite samey as they all had the same salad filling with only one slight difference between each sandwich, some more variation would have been nice. However for £16pp we can't complain!

Tasty Vegetable Based Dishes - Edit
Went here for dinner whilst visiting Manchester, and it was lovely! We tried a couple of the small plates and it was refreshing to eat some veg-focused dishes for a change. Giving vegetables their time to shine!

An allotment at the cathedral - Edit
Wonderful room besides the lovely Manchester cathedral. I had a starter: Tofu skewer, which was really good and tasty. The main course was celeriac steak with asparagus, mash and a green dip. To much gravy for my taste, but worse the money.
Read moreI had a very good wine as drink. As desert I chose toffee pudding, definitely to sweet after my fancy.

Afternoon tea - Edit
We had a vegan afternoon tea - the highlights were the (just baked) scones and cauli wings. We were so full afterwards and it was a nice variety of sweet/savoury.
Read moreThe sandwiches were a little dry and the bread didn’t taste super fresh. It would have been nice to have more varied fillings - it was guacamole and salad or cream cheese and salad.
Reasonable value at £16 pp including a hot or cold drink.

Good delicious food - Edit
It was delicious, I had the dumplings, alongside a strawberry ice cream. these were both gluten free and vegan. The dumplings were kind of sweet but still delicious, and the ice cream was great for a sunny day. The restaurant itself is kind of hard to find, but its nicely designed. would recommend :)

Really poor food - Edit
The Bombay grilled cheese somehow was burnt and soggy at the same time and barely any filling said it to the waitress and got a new one that was the exact same
Read moreThe celeriac steak was also poor the mash was a weird texture and the steak itself was flavourless and it came with no sauce
The only postitve was the plant balls which were average but much nicer than the rest

Fully vegan but food could have been tastier - Edit
Went with a group of four and had two sharing platters - they were pretty big but the bhajis were really really oily with very little taste. Had the ice cream for pudding and it was meant to be super chocolatey but it barely had any chocolate sauce. The potato balls were super tasty though, so there’s that. Waiting staff seemed a little clueless and for a few things wrong during the dinner.

A good afternoon tea - Edit
We'd booked in for the afternoon tea and then started reading the reviews on here and we were a bit wary. Fortunately, there was nothing to worry about.
Read moreThere were three different sandwiches, cream cheese, hummus and avocado, and we got three of each sandwich between the two of us. They looked a bit scruffy and the fillings sounded a bit uninspiring. However, they were all well flavoured and I enjoyed them.
The pot of cauliflower wings were the star of the savoury section, and the whole afternoon tea in fact. The coating was really crispy and excellently spiced.
We got a scone each with a raspberry (I think) jam and a pot of cream. The scones were nicely baked and weren't dry at all.
For cakes, we got a chocolate brownie and a red velvet cake. The chocolate brownie was okay, it tasted good and had a decent brownie like texture. The red velvet cake was great. The sponge was nice and moist and the cake and cream were all well balanced.
For £16 it was a good deal compared to other vegan afternoon teas I have been for. One downside was the tea, they only topped the pot up with boiling water rather than giving a fresh pot.

All in all okay - Edit
The Lunch Deal is good and the food was mostly fine. I went with a friend and we both ordered the lunchen Deal, so we had 4 "small" dishes to share. Out of the 4, 2 were really good. The soup was nothing special and the Bhajis too oily. My friend didn't feel to good afterwards. On the other hand the potato Balls were awesome.

What a great location, right in front of the Cathedral. With nice weather you have a great view from the terrace.
Read moreStaff was very cheery and friendly.
We ordered the sharing platter and the tofu laksa.
The sharing platter had very tasty fries leek bhajis and polenta fries. The rest was 2 skewers with grilled onion, mushroom and marinated tofu. This and the accompanying sauces were not that flavorful.
The curry with the laksa was okay but the rice was a bit dry.
For dessert we ordered the strawberry rice pudding. Which is an interesting combination but we were not blown away.
All in all we were happy to find some veggies but flavours could be improved.

I like their afternoon tea but the cauliflower wings are too spicy for me and the red velvet cake is way too sweet and salty at the same time. Could be improved.
