We have been visiting The Alley regularly (~weekly) now for about one year and it has been the best thing happened in the Kuopio veggie restaurant scene!
They always have several vegeteratian and/or vegan dishes and you can take as much as you want from the very decently (~10 euros) priced buffet. Especially pickled veggies are delicious and our kid is fan of spring rolls and noodles.
If you are feeling sweet, remember to buy the buffet with ice cream. They have always self-made vegan soft-ice in two flavours and you can tune it with your favourite toppings.
Even though they serve meat, this is a MUST visit for oriental-loving vegetarians / vegans liviing or visiting Kuopio. The staff is super-friendly and you always feel welcomed!
The staff was very welcoming and explained the buffet dishes and vegan options smoothly to us and brought us a replacement for the rice. Food, amazing! So yummy. The restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. It was a bit disappointing they didnt serve ice cream (vegan, too!) on the day we visited, usually it's part of the buffet. But all in all, a good place and amazing food!

Cons: Half of the buffet is meat/fish/etc., A bit gloomy location under the market square
