Honest real pub grub

This pub does things properly - homemade good food at low cost in an authentic english "boozer".
The landlady, bar staff and chef all knew what vegan was and it was no trouble at all.
When we visited they had a shortened menu including daily specials, but I understand soup is a regular feature, as are filling tasty dishes.
5 stars for the homemade vegan tomato soup. Wish we would have had more time to have stayed for the chestnut and ale stew.
In an age of too much deepfried/processed/ microwaveable bought-in pub food, it was refreshing to have something authentic, made on premises and with love.

Pros: inexpensive, homemade, veganism understood
