Better than expected - Edit
Wasn’t really expecting much, but their dinner buffet had a few vegan options. One night was a quinoa dish, and the second night was a cous cous. Both nights had a vegan polenta. All the dishes were pretty good! Really happy that they revolve the options nightly.

It should have been better… - Edit
In all fairness it was a couple years ago that I ate here, but I just remember I wasn’t wowed at all. It was edible…just boring and bland and I expected better for the place and price.

Beautiful historic hotel. Worth getting a drink and finding a spot by a fireplace in the common area. The dining room is gorgeous, too, and it was nice to have a couple vegan options. I had the celeriac medallions with lentils and romesco sauce. A little salty but good. They also had a vegan chocolate tart on the menu, but they ran out the night I was there😒

At least there are options - Edit
To be fair, in an area with a lot of vegan options I wouldn’t necessarily add this restaurant but there are almost no vegan dining options in the park, especially if you arrive late after the closing hours of the markets. We were happy as we discovered that the Ahwanee offers vegan options at the bar and in the restaurant. We were too underdressed for the restaurant in our hiking clothes but allowed in the bar after a short wait. They had 3 vegan options, we took a quinoa tabbouleh salad and a hummus plate with homemade pita. It was nothing special and overpriced but good enough for the circumstances plus the atmosphere and the staff are very nice.
