Not bad for pub grub - Edit
I ordered the vegan aubergine gratin with garlic ciabatta and it was quite nice. The apple and blackberry crumble came in a generous portion size with vegan custard. Staff were friendly. A bit lacking in atmosphere but that's to be expected in a quiet pub setting. Altogether a decent compromise for vegans out with non-vegan friends or family.

Good menu, mediocre food - Edit
Once a no go area for vegetarians it's great to see the Admiral surfing the vegan wave along with other Vintage Inns. In such a nice location while still close to the city, this popular eatery is now somewhere you can go with the malzoan family members. The menu looks great with good options for starters, mains and dessert. Improvement is needed with the food however, although for a first attempt it's pretty good. The 'miso glazed roasted aubergine roll' is just that, spicy aubergine in a bread roll. Weird. The coconut veg curry looks great, but is pretty bland. The food looks good and they were keen for feedback so I think there is great potential for Vintage Inns to become a go-to place for vegan food.
