One of my favourite restaurants to go out in Cambridge with friends or family. The staff are really friendly and there’s always a good atmosphere.

It was hard to enjoy the food when the service was so poor. We waited 2 hours for our mains and were ignored most of the time we were there, meaning we couldn't even order extra drinks. The food is tasty, but not exceptional and we were originally delivered a huge plate of meat and fish starters, which we obviously had to send back, even though we had clearly told them we were vegan several times. Additionally, the menu does have vegan options for most dishes, but communicating that we wanted the vegan option to the staff was met with confusion.
Read moreAfter all the problems with the meal we left with the the food in takeaway boxes, as we needed to get somewhere else and were feeling quite grumpy about the service.
Maybe worth it if you want to get takeaway, but honestly I think there are better thai restaurants in Cambridge.

We had an excellent dinner at Thaikhun. The vegan options were clearly marked, and the host asked about allergies or special diets before even seating us. We had the award-winning, limited time Paenang curry and it truly was the best curry I've ever had.

Loads of vegan options with most dishes being adaptable to be made VE with the addition of tofu or veg instead of meat. Good amount of GF options, too! More westernised than authentic Thai flavours, but still tasty and a good option if eating out with picky meat-eating friends that won’t go to a fully-vegan place!

There are so many great vegan options at Thaikhun and they’re very accommodating. I never worry about accidentally getting fish sauce in the green papaya salad. Do yourself a favor and get the mango sticky rice for dessert.

Most dishes had the option of tofu/ vegetable instead of meat. Not all curry or noodle bases were veggie/ vegan but everything was clearly labelled and lots of choice regardless. Food was good, staff friendly and a nice location with indoor or outdoor seating.

Nice food, unsure of vegan options - Edit
Has a nice big vegan menu however one item was listed to contain “mince” and “oyster sauce” when asked the staff were unsure what it was and said it was a typo and insisted it was fully vegan. We did not try this dish. The food we did order came quickly and was very tasty. The sweet corn cakes for starters were a big winner here.

I had a vegan pad Thai option - I'm not sure why and I've never had this before, but the noodles were swimming in a tangy tomato sauce and it just tasted awful. HOWEVER do try the good time girl cocktail because honestly it's one of the best cocktails I've ever had

Delicious food in a cute setting. I had the pad Thai (vegan) which was really nice, and a tofu starter. The wait staff were familiar with which menu items were vegan and were friendly.

This funky place is fun, good, and cheap and has lots of options for vegans. The sweet corn cakes were great, and the tom yum soup was delicious. The phad thai was fine (I have snobbish standards coming from Seattle) and I would order it again. It was fun to share all of the dishes at our table and try everything, and it was really cheap too. Oh, and the mango sorbet is vegan - yum :)
