I'd rate this 10 stars if I could - Edit
Very cool vibe to this small Thai restaurant. Amazing staff and even more amazing food. Everything from the floor layout to the dish presentations was well thought out.
Read moreI got the fried tofu and lotus root small plate and the Khao Soi vegan entree.
The fried tofu and lotus root was fried to perfection and that Thai spice was fantastic. I wish they bottled that up and sold it. 10/10 - will order again!
The Khao Soi curry was mind blowingly delicious. It was heavenly. Expertly seasoned, perfectly balanced textures and richness. Absolutely everything you want a curry to be. By far the best Thai I've ever had. I'd fly to NOLA specifically for this!! 12/10.
Everything about this place was incredible and was firing on all cylinders.
Pros: Separate vegan menu, Awesome atmosphere and staff, Stupidly good food.
Cons: Nothing at all this place was perfect.

Excellent vegan options - Edit
We had the tofu satay, khao Soi tofu, kraprow vegan, and dragonfruit sorbet. Everything was very flavorful and staff was friendly and made great recommendations. We were fortunate to get a table. Reservations recommended.

Tasty Thai food - Edit
The separate vegan menu is great of course, we had the Vegan Boat noodle and the Pumpkin curry, both was quite tasty, the Pumpkin Curry was almost a bit too much in portion. The only negative point was that we waited quite a while for the food, round about 30 minutes. It was shortly before they closed and there were already other people waiting to pick-up their food. I guess that speaks for its quality😉

Amazing food! - Edit
They had a separate vegan menu with apps and entrees. We got the vegan soup option and vegan yellow curry. Both very very good. They were fairly spicy as well.

Entire separate vegan menu - Edit
If I could give 5 stars I would. I’ve had Thai in restaurants all over the country including nyc. Delicious, creative menu. If in the neighborhood it is worth stopping by.

Great find - Edit
I knew right away this was a great find - restaurant was full on a Monday night, food looked great, dedicated vegan menu, outdoor seating. Tofu and lotus appetizer was perfectly cooked. Kabocha pumpkin squash curry was outstanding. Will be back.

Great vegan options! - Edit
They have a designated vegan menu which is always a plus. We tried on each option and our favorites were the Lotus Root appetizer and the fried eggplant entree. I’m a fan of Thai iced tea and they were able to make a vegan version with coconut milk! Great dinner option.

AMAZING thai food! - Edit
there is an entire vegan menu here so my heart was stolen before i even went in. the wait was really long for a wednesday night, but they seemed to simply be understaffed. the staff that was there was super nice. the atmosphere on the inside is so fancy and cute. i would 100% go back here and would recommend it to anyone who likes thai food.

Best Baton Rouge Thai Food - Edit
Thaihey was previously located in White Star Market. After that trendy food hall closed, Thaihey moved to the new location on Lee Drive, which offers a convenient drive-through window and home delivery.
Read moreThe current menu is quite small, but they seem to emphasize doing a smaller number of dishes really well, instead of trying to offer mediocre versions of every imaginable dish. The vegan options are clearly identified, and the ones we tried were fabulous and flavorful. We enjoyed the Khao Soi Tofu (yellow curry soup, with sweet potato noodles) and the Pumpkin Curry (also with tofu). We left a note in the online order requesting "Thai spicy, not American spicy," and Thaihey did not disappoint -- the flavor and heat-level was exactly what we wanted. (YMMV if you order without some level of spicy -- just tell them what you want in the notes!)
The Khao Soi Tofu soup has a rich coconut milk base. The purple sweet potato noodles that come with it are interesting and delicious. For take out, they package the noodles and garnishes separately, to add to the soup right before eating it at home.
The Pumpkin Curry is a classic red curry, with coconut milk. We were worried that it might be too sweet with pumpkin, but it's not at all. The pumpkin is actually just big chunks of some kind of squash -- it's not "pumpkin-tasting" in the flavor. It may help to think of it as a vegetable/tofu curry with squash. I judge Thai restaurants based on their red curry quality, and this is a GOOD ONE (actually, it's the only really good one in Baton Rouge IMHO). It doesn't taste like it came out of a jar, like a lot of subpar Thai curries do. We lived in California for years, and this is the first one I've found locally that is in the same league as West Coast Thai food -- and the only Thai restaurant in BR that I trust not to sneak fish sauce into everything.
I'm looking forward to trying all of the vegan options!
Pros: Separate Vegan Menu, No Sneaky Fish Sauce, Great Flavor
Cons: Limited Menu
