Best food I had in all of Krabi

*To find Sandwich Me, locate the sign at the foot of the driveway, and continue walking 120m to the Terrace at the top of the hill*

I just spent a week in Krabi over Songkran, and made sure to visit as many spots listed on HC as I could, some other surprise hidden gems too…. nothing came as close to how good Sandwich Me is. Not by a long country mile.

Let me start by saying the view here is stunning. Daytime is preferable but night time is still an amazing experience. The staff are very kind and I received a smile from the host when he recognised me for my second visit. They play great music here too.

My first visit, I tried the Sweet Sticky Tofu which was cooked to perfection, and had a mango drink with cream left out (still amazing). My second visit I tried the Choo Chee tofu curry, again cooked to perfection. I would say this is the tastiest Choo Chee I’ve ever had. I spoke to the chef afterwards, they mentioned the recipe is sourced directly from its origins and the recipe hasn’t changed in over 50 years.

Highly recommended, don’t sleep on this place. Closed on weekends, open 12pm - 10pm Monday to Friday.

Cons: Limited menu, but well catered if asking for Vegan

Best food I had in Krabi

Ordered the sweet and sour tofu (who knew tofu would be so hard to find here!) and a vegetarian papaya salad. Both were awesome! And finished it off with mango sticky rice, which was also great

Pros: Most options I’ve seen on a menu in the area, Tasty

Favorite place in the area

We stayed in Klong Mung beach area for 4 days, and eating here was without doubt the most satisfying meal of the entire trip. The tofu was deepfried till perfection and the red curry was delicious.

Staff was fluent in English and understood perfectly to omit oyster sauce as well as fish sauce.

I'd definitively be back if I was back in the area.

Cozy and clean place with tasty food and friendly staff

This place seemed to be new as everything looked well maintained, and the kitchen was probably the cleanest one we've seen so far in Thailand. We asked the owner if he can prepare a green curry without meet but with tofu. He had no problem with that and was happy to serve us what we sought. Besides, there are other dishes on the menu with tofu that are already vegetarian. The food was tasty, and we got a lot of tofu. The only drawback was the amount of curry sauce, which isn't as much as you would expect from a Thai curry. It is enough to share, but you cannot swim in it. The price is above average (around 200 Baht for a curry), but you'll get a free fruit platter for dessert, which lowers the burden. If you are going to stay in Krabi and looking for high quality authentic Thai food, this place is worth a visit. And don't be afraid of the name, they don't serve sandwiches :).
