Lovely food and staff

First time trying Ethiopian food last night and had a lovely time. The staff was very warm and welcoming and the vegetarian/vegan platter was delicious and healthy.

Tasty

I ordered take out and got the vegan platter. As others commented one platter is a LOT of food that could easily have been shared. Instead I have leftovers to enjoy tomorrow😀nice variety of flavours textures and colours. The restaurant itself wasn’t really busy (Tuesday evening) and no music so lacking in vibe. Decor however did add vibrancy of colours with art and posters of Ethiopia. Would definitely do this again.

Vegan platter

This is not a vegan restaurant but has a number of options. I recommend the platters where you get to try a little of everything.

Best restaurant in the city

If you like large portions and great food, this is the place to go. I’ve never had better Ethiopian food than at TJ’s restaurant. The vegetarian options on the menu are numerous and they are all vegan. I recommend getting the vegetarian platter, which gives you a sampling of all the vegetarian dishes on offer.

I love this restaurant since I never leave hungry and the prices are reasonable (about $18-$20, including tip, per person, no drinks). The owners and staff are wonderful and so kind. They are always happy to help walk you though how to eat the food on the platter using injera (a bread-like product that is used in place of silverware).

Overall great food and a great dining experience.

Pros: Large portions, Amazing food , Reasonable prices

Cons: Service can be a bit slow at times
