Vegan Oaxacan chocolate - Edit
Lots of vegan Oaxacan chocolate options and lots of free samples! We got chocolate covered cacao nibs and coffee beans and a mango chocolate bar. A good place to buy gifts to take home from holiday.

Walked here to get some chocolate. The woman behind the counter gave us so many samples to try and all were delicious. We settled on the chocolate covered hazelnuts and chocolate covered cardamom. Prices on items ranged from about 50-150 pesos.

Tasty Vegan Chocolate - Edit
We were excited to find this chocolate shop right around the corner from our Airbnb. The nice woman behind the counter offered us tastings of several chocolates. Traditionally Mexican chocolate doesn't contain milk, which gives vegans many options.

Vimos que ofrecía chocolate a la taza vegano y no pudimos resistirnos, porque sabíamos que era una de las especialidades de Oaxaca. Y la verdad es que estaba absolutamente delicioso. También compramos varias tabletas de chocolate de varios sabores. Local pequeño y acogedor, con personal muy amable.

Rude staff, bad chocolate - Edit
I was really surprised after reading the other reviews because I had a really unpleasant experience at Texier, I was the only one in the shop and the girl didn’t seem to want me there, she was realllyyyy scared with COVID she made me wash my hands 2 times before handing me the chocolate to taste. She barely wanted me to taste the chocolates that were there for that, I didn’t understand why! I bought the hazelnut chocolate and it was really bad, dry and tasteless.

Definitely off the beaten track, but not too far. I was assured that there isn’t any dairy in any of the chocolates. You can taste-test everything. Beware that one variety does have grasshoppers in it. Must go! Get gifts for all your vegan friends at home!
