A great little place for our date night, and we loved the whole concept. Great food, amazing cocktails, lovely service. Best Vegan Restaurant in Rio - Edit
An incredible experience. In the city of Rio de Janeiro, it is undoubtedly the best vegan restaurant (one of the best also among vegans and non-vegans), in addition to being one of the best restaurants in Rio to have drinks (one is better than the other). The starters are amazing (I love the “acarajé” starter) and the main dishes even more so. The experience is great inside the restaurant, with a very well thought out background playlist and a service that is really above average in Rio de Janeiro. The prices may seem higher, but I understand that for the high vegan gastronomy, numerous options of drinks, good music and excellent service, I think it's right there. I usually go to the restaurant to celebrate something important. It became my reference.

Os preços podem parecer mais salgados, mas entendo que pela alta gastronomia vegana, inúmeras opções de drinks, boa música e excelente atendimento, acho que é por aí mesmo. Costumo ir no restaurante pra comemorar alguma coisa importante. Passou a ser a minha referência.

Expensive but good - Edit
Teva is a cute little restaurant in Ipanema. Their menu is seasonal, and they have some different options for lunch or dinner time. They are all interesting and creative, with a variety of fancy ingredients. I had the Escalope à Piamontese, which is a seitan schnitzel with mushrooms on top of fries and rice with cashew cream and mozzarella. It was quite tasty and the portion was big, but too expensive, in my opinion. The dessert was even more overpriced, despite also being delicious. I had the Banoffee, and there wasn't too much of anything on the plate, which was a pity because everything was really tasty. Anyway, it was a great experience overall. It is noticeable that the food is prepared with care and that the ingredients are of high quality. The service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend visiting Teva when in Rio, just come prepared for spending a lot of money.

We had a wonderful meal at Teva! The menu is interesting and varied, with dishes from Brazil, Japan, Korea and some “western” ones as well. Cocktails are very good and with an interesting mix of flavors. A bit above the average prices in Rio, but absolutely worth it!

The best in Rio - Edit
Rio is not a great place for vegans, but Teva easily takes the crown of best in the city. They’re dishes are inventive, beautiful, flavorful and created with care. This is higher end vegan dining, but one of only two places in the city I’d ever recommend to a fellow vegan.

La comida de Teva es simplemente exquisita, puedes notar que está hecha por profesionales de la cocina. Me encantó que sus platos estuvieran perfectamente balanceados en sabor y texturas, y que ofrecieran un menú diario para probar entradas, platos principales y postres. From the sangria, to the staff, the top level food and the beautiful deco. This restaurant has to be visited by ALL vegans and soon-to-be-vegan. The foot AND drink choices are plenty. The atmosphere keeps you there to admire the deco and the enjoy the music. The staff were great and on top of all requests.

You can't miss this place when in rio! It's relatively pricey, but definitely worth it. They make really unique dishes and serve very tasty alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks. On top of that the ambiance of the place is really nice and everything is organic. I went back several times in two weeks.

A lovely treat in the heart of Ipanema. The bill came up at R$230 for 3 course with wine. I wish they had more veganised Brazilian staples, but the menu was varied and interesting (albeit a little confusing).
