Se volete provare il testone in versione vegana qui è possibile, ma l’offerta è limitata a delle sole verdure (peperoni zucchine e melanzane) e il tutto risulta un po’ asciutto. Bene per l’offerta ma aggiungerei qualcosa per dargli un po’ più di sapore

Umbrian torta al testo - Edit
Il Testone is a chain of "torta al testo" from Perugia, the typical bread from central Italy. In the last few years they have included vegan options on the menu - before you have to ask for a torta with mixed vegetables, out of the menu. They also have other options, such as lentils and salads. Everything is on budget (you pay 6 euros for a torta and water/wine/soda) and distributed around Perugia. I strongly recommend it!

Menu now says “Vegan” - Edit
The menu now offers a vegan torta al testo, featuring 3 seasonal veggies (mine were zucchini, eggplant, and some greens). The bread of the torta is super good! Easy lunch option, and although located in the tourist center/old city, it felt less touristy - menu is only in Italian, and most diners seemed like local university students when I was there.

Nice torta al testo but... - Edit
First of all, there is no ready-to-order vegan option, you have to specifically ask for one. However, the staff was nice and willing to help and the torta was great! I had it with zucchini, eggplant and broccoli. The price is also great, around 5 euros with a drink. The biggest BUT is the sides... we ordered a side of chargrilled potatoes, which was 3 euros and we literally got served 2 potatoes, and not as a metaphor, they really were two... a bit ridiculous imo.
