Best Restaurant Meal - Edit
This was another recommendation, and I’m glad we got to go here. I had the best restaurant meal that I’ve ever tasted. For starters I had the Ottoman Oyster Mushroom - I’ve never tasted anything like it - amazing. For my main, I had the the spinach potato rosti with tofu - it was foodgasm time. I don’t usually have a dessert, so I shared the Parkin with rhubarb and ice cream. It just goes to show how tasty vegan food is. I can’t wait to come back again. Oh and the staff were fantastic.

Fun vegetarian dining experience - Edit
Good food choices, excellent service, good value for money. Had the tasting plates so we could sample a lot as rarely in Brighton. Unfortunately not able to try the dessert tasting plate too as that would have been too much on the same night, but the one pud we had was delish.

Treat-y meals - Edit
As a resident of Brighton for the last 11 years, I can confirm that this place is fantastic. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly when you engage with them. The food is very special. Can be pricey but certainly worth it for an occasion at the very least!

Loved it - Edit
We expected this to be something special and we weren’t short changed.
Read moreWe had the tapas and stupidly ordered a side of fries too (too much food).
It was really, really good. The mushroom skewers were unbelievably meaty.
Great place. Great service. Great food.
Pros: Good service , Mad big desserts
Cons: This restaurant is 300 miles away from my house.

For service, drinks and truffles, this is the place, for starters and mains, well...... - Edit
Received a wonderful welcome from Natasha upon arrival. Joe, our server, was fantastic - a rare example of sincere and generous service. Mango margaritas during, and dessert truffles at the end of the meal, were superb. Starters and mains not so good.
Read moreMy sister had Aubergine Dengaku, my bro-in-law and I had Hoi Sin Sesame Tofu. Aubergine dish was okay, not excellent, which for such a prestigious restaurant was surprising. Tofu dish was both very salty and overly sweet. Initially, my sister and I agreed to share each others dishes but as soon as she tasted the tofu all agreements were cancelled.
For mains, my sister had Bao Wow Buns which again were okay. They were so well steamed that the buns had flattened out and the braised halloumi had very little taste left in them.
Both of us men had the Barberry Biryani Dal which consisted of five ramekin bowls - the three larger bowls, 3 or 4 ounce size, contained dal, rice and watercress salad. The two smaller bowls contained tamarind chutney and lime & mint raita. Since the bowls were quite small, the portions were quite small. There really wasn't that much dal, rice or salad which in retrospect may have been a blessing.
The dal had very little spice, more a bean stew than a dal and had very large chunks of tomato which made less room for the dal. The rice, about 3 ounces, though tasty, was a “bridge” too far since I had to get rid of six whole cardamon pods while attempting to eat the rice. The salad was dry with little or no dressing and was topped with dry crunchy noodle things. I did not eat it. Tamarind chutney was very sweet. Lime & mint raita did not taste of lime or mint, more a sweet mayonnaise.
Why not complain at the time? Well, my sister and bro-in-law were having such a great evening that I did not want to dampen their experience by complaining. It was their wedding anniversary, together almost 40 years, and they'd been severely affected by the Covid crisis. This was the night out that they'd been waiting for for a very long time. Complaining about the food would have spoiled their evening.
I called the restaurant days later and spoke with a manager, who in fairness, heard everything I had to say with complete impartiality. She even offered my sister and bro-in-law a return visit. Unfortunately, my bro-in-law had informed me he would not go back and without him my sister would not want to go. Strangely, even though I paid for the whole evening I was offered nothing. Was it something I said?
Pros: Lovely welcome, Excellent service
Cons: Lack of quality control, Imbalance in portion sizes: too much or not enough

STUNNING - Edit
I've been to Terre Terre many times over the years and NEVER get bored. The food is original and delicious. I can't remember the name of of dish but my favourite thing to have is the vegan sharing platter for two. Highly recommended if you're in Brighton and fancy a treat (can be a little on the pricy side but so worth it).

Probably one of the best places I’ve eaten. The food is expensive but it is totally worth the experience as you get what you pay for. Their KFC was one of the best taste experiences I’ve had.

unfortunately not for me - Edit
I really wanted to like this place. I'm not usually a fine dining person, so waited for a special occasion, but it was unfortunately no good. I actually wrote to them as it was that level of no good.. They were very responsive and apologetic, and invited us back. We tried again with 3 courses each and wine, and it was better but nothing special unfortunately. The ambience wasn't my thing, the food not my preferred dishes. I also found it very expensive for what it was, even for an upscale restaurant. I recommend the other nearby fine dining place over TAT

Possibly my favourite restaurant meal ever - Edit
Although vegetarian, almost everything can be made vegan and the menu is really clear. The food is right up my street and everything tasted incredible. Staff were friendly and chatty, and loved the background music.

Great menu- confusing portion sizes - Edit
We ordered the Lavash bread as a starter which was an enormous portion of deep fried bread.
Read moreMy partner ordered the KFC for her main which was a depressingly small portion size, 4 little bits of cauli plus a tiny ball of rice. Yet for the same price, I ordered the Bao buns and got 4 very large buns that felt too big of a portion. We were very confused as to why they were so different!!
We also ordered the spicy bang chips which were incredibly disappointing and basically just fried bits of oil.
Lovely staff however and great cocktails.
Pros: Exciting and intriguing menu , Lovely staff / customer service , Cosy outside area
Cons: Very expensive , Too small portion sizes , Not incredible flavours

Innovative, Unique and Exquisitely Palatable - Edit
Absorbing a menu with multiple unfamiliar ingredients evokes a strange kind of curiosity. My friends and I spent a great deal of time working our way through trying to dissect what was on offer. The staff were very patient with our serious questioning and the result was that we could not have been more delighted with our choices. The hoi sin marinated sesame tofu and vegan rosti were first class. I have to admit that I would have preferred not to share them. We had to have pudding as well and opted for the churros and a brownie with ice cream which did not disappoint. My parents returned a few months later on my recommendation on their day trip to Brighton.

The best food I’ve ever eaten. It’s amazing. We always travel to come here for special occasions because it’s so good. The puddings are unbelievably good, so good I fact that I always get an extra one or two to take home. If you’re looking for some fine vegan do dining you don’t need to look further than here. Fabulous afternoon tea - Edit
I enjoyed an amazingly creative vegan afternoon tea at Terre a Terre to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Everything was a wonderful taste sensation. The savoury course was beautiful, not a sandwich in sight! Pickled Japanese vegetables on rice crackers, stuffed bao buns, a gorgeous hot onion bhaji type mouthful of goodness. The large warm scone with homemade jam and whipped coconut cream was perfect. I’ve had many afternoon teas in my time but the sweet selection here was very special and nothing predictable, no signs of a cupcake or a Victoria sponge! I photographed the menu as it was all so intricate and difficult to remember. The waitress was lovely. This is just a great place for vegan food, why don’t go they vegan?!! 🤷♀️
