Creative afternoon tea, VE & GF option - Edit
Loved the afternoon tea, which was provided as two courses - plated savoury followed by tiered sweet. Steamed bun and hushpuppy were delicious and a novel alternative to finger sandwiches. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended!

Perfection - Edit
If I could give this place six stars I would. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the tapas menu we had was excellent. So much thought clearly went into the preparation of each dish, and I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether they're vegetarian or vegan or not.

90's Vibe - Edit
Old school place in the middle of the Laines. Food was kind of classic too but in a good way. I can't fault it, everything was full of flavour, never boring. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Holiday treat! - Edit
We are on holiday in Brighton so decided to treat ourselves to Terre a Terre.
Read moreI knew about it from legend. My partner went once ten years ago.
We were well looked after and enjoyed three courses with matching drinks.
It was expensive, but the food was the best I have ever eaten. A holiday treat!
The only non-vegan restaurant I'll rate with five stars.
Pros: Central location , Excellent service , Exquisite food
Cons: Expensive , Not a vegan restaurant

A disappointing visit - Edit
This restaurant needs to up its game, there is plenty of competition in Brighton.
Read moreRestaurant needs a make over, looks very dated.
They have a good and varied vegetarian choice, but limited vegan choices and both so overpriced.
I was expecting something special but left feeling very disappointed.
Pros: A couple of vegan choices, Good location, Friendly staff
Cons: So over priced, not worth the money , Disappointing vegan choices, No wow factor

Good, but lacking that wow-factor - Edit
We had mixed shared tapas to taste much from their menu. We were not blown away by the flavors, which we would expect for a high prices fine dining restaurant. The staff is friendly and the service is quite fast. They would be able to improve by adding some decorative interior and upgrade the furniture to create the right ambience. Also I missed a vegan cheese platter.

Amazing and mindblowing - Edit
The starters were the best part I think. The mains and desserts were very good too but for me the starters were just on another level. I didn’t and couldn’t expect something so good. The food is amazing, creative and packed with interesting flavors. I 100% recommend it.

Excellent! - Edit
Terre a Terre has always been excellent! Afternoon tea was splendid, so much thought went into each piece. Truly amazing. Regarding the rest of the menu - it’s got a few vegan options which we’ve tried over time but I do wish there were more available!

Excellent as always - if only they’d go fully vegan - Edit
I’ve been going here for some years and it’s unfailingly excellent. A meal plus cocktail cost just over £50 per person but that felt reasonable, given the quantity and quality of the food. Wonderfully imaginative ideas, beautifully presented, and the service is always with a warm smile. Terre à Terre led the way when vegetarianism was an oddity but now it feels like they’re lagging behind, given how the world is changing. It’s always a pleasure to eat here but I do wish they’d bite the bullet and go fully vegan.

7/10 might try again! - Edit
We booked Terra A Terre for an afternoon tea during our trip to Brighton. It was so lovely to find a vegetarian restaurant which you felt like you could trust to prepare a fully vegan afternoon tea!
Read moreThe service was very attentive and the restaurant was very big. All of the dishes were very well presented, but the flavours didn’t knock our socks off.
Sadly, the scones were heavy and dry and they were the thing I was most looking forward to. Worth a visit if you’re in the area, but just felt expensive for what we actually had!
Pros: Fully vegetarian restaurant , Attentive staff , Vegan afternoon tea
Cons: Heavy scones

Worthy of the hype - Edit
I only had 3 days in Brighton and this was the only vegetarian restaurant I went to because of the reviews and it certainly lived up to its reputation. It's mostly vegan which is fantastic, and the sharing plates, although pricey, are an excellent way to try so many items on the menu. Although the miso was overdone on the sharing plate (3 of the 6 bites), there was still so much going on to be very enjoyable nonetheless. Everything is delicious and innovative and pretty even the cocktails are delicious (try the lemon meringue!).

A must visit! - Edit
Adventurous flavours which are beautifully presented in a large plates. Loved the focaccia, aubergine starter and the KFC. For mains we had the spinach rosti and the vegan bao buns. Both delightful. I advise understanding the menu and asking re ingredients as some are quite unusual. I also advise going with an empty stomach so you can enjoy your meal. JC was our waitress for the night who was also wonderful!

A fancy veggie spot in Brighton - Edit
Really tasty food which great selection and interesting flavours and some of the most creative items on the menu. Staff were super nice and helpful, especially JC! Foccacia was super soft and airy, the aubergine starter was amazing, really enjoyed the KFC and Rosti dishes. The bao buns were the best vegan bao buns I've tried before. Would just love for the place to be fully vegan though!
