Expensive-fast food-small plates - Edit
We had 3(!) main dishes as we had been very hungry. After all we paid 47€ (we had sushi, Jamaica hot plate and a bowl with vegan chickens (of course fried but not mentioned on menue as fried), tab water, Jamaican beer) and weren’t filled up. The stuff was ignorant and didn’t pick our order (not even by pencil) and forgot it 3 times. Then coming back and letting us know the ice tea was out of stock. The dishes were sprinkled with something like mayonnaise what the only flavour together with a lot of fat was. Seems all things there are fried.

Great food but... - Edit
The food was tasty.
Read moreHowever apart from that, everything was bad.
We were only two and we had to wait a lot to be served.
The music was terrible and very loud.
We also had to wait to have the bill because the waiter went to the kitchen to talk with the cook and wouldn't care about his clients.
We could see the kitchen floor under the curtains separating the room from the kitchen and it was incredibly dirty. If the floor is that dirty I don't even want to know how the counter or the fridge look like.
Pros: Tasty food
Cons: Bad hygiene, Loud music, Bad service, Long wait

Food was great! Service not so much - Edit
The place itself isn't too big, but it even offers a table to sit closer to the floor, Japanese style. And the vibes overall were good, the music system added up to the experience. After around 20 minutes of waiting our mains arrive, the flavours in the food were amazing. Congratulations to the chefsy! Very content with the menu. However, the server seemed somewhat distracted. After requesting the dessert we waited over half and hour because he forgot to put the order through. We were not able to request a refund and it took them a considerable amount of time to get them done. Would come back sometime, but only if I see a different server at the till.
Read morePros: A lot of options to choose from the menu, The food was delicious
Cons: The waiting time for food exceeded the 30 minutes, The server wasn't hospitable enough, No refunds

Delicious, but not enough staff - Edit
What an interesting concept to mix Jamaican, Western and Japanese food, make it all vegan and serve it in a restaurant that is a mix from high stools and sitting on the floor. The options are pretty diverse and my 'cheese' sticks and 'fish' burger were both really convincing. I was there on a Sunday night and it was packed so I shared a table with a strange couple and the waiter, being by himself, was obviously overwhelmed. This is the one thing that made me give only four stars, to encourage the place to have more staff.

Interesting vegan options - Edit
We had a nice dinner. I was happy to get gluten-free vegan food, even options to choose from😄the chairs are high and it feels like a place where you come for a quick bite. As such I would recommend it.

Good food but not consistent - Edit
I’ve been here quite a few times now. Quite recently there was a change of ownership and the menu was redone. Since then, it seems as though the food quality has declined and the customer service isn’t nearly as good as it used to be a couple of years ago.
Read moreI was there today and was charged for a milkshake I didn’t even drink, because it was awful (I had it before and loved it!! Ordered it again and it was really bad...). Too bad, I really loved this place! Will look for the next vegan ‘hole in the wall’ in Amsterdam.
Pros: All vegan, Unique options, Homemade vegan chicken

really cute place - Edit
We were full when we came here but wished we weren't the dishes looked great but could only manage the cheesecake which was yummy. they were kind enough to warm up baby food (it was vegan). we sat at the table on floor level which was cosy and easier with our baby. would want to come back and try the main dishes.

We had the large vegan plate and the Jamaican curry plate. Both were delicious. Huge portions. We weren't sure whether to enter at first because the sign said closed, but it was open. The waiter seemed like he was on another planet too!

Such a great combination between two cuisines and really friendly staff. Came here 3 times during my trip to Amsterdam for 9 days and is definitely my favourite vegan restaurant I tried in the city. Super convenient location also and cosy atmosphere

Improving - Edit
After reading the reviews of HappyCow, I visited TerraZen Centre with mixed expectations. The restaurant is very close to Amsterdam Central station and easy to find (although in a narrow back alley). Because others complained about long waits, I visited at 3 pm: too late for lunch, too early for dinner.
Read moreTerraZen is owned by a Japanese wife and Jamaican husband, that's why they serve Japanese and Jamaican food. Since I was kindly welcomed by the Japanese owner (speaking English, Japanese and a little Dutch), I asked her for a recommendation for Japanese food. She recommended the "Shingen Sushi", which took about 10 minutes to prepare. The taste was very good, but different from traditional sushi. Instead of white rice, brown rice is used, which in my opinion is an improvement. The vegetables seemed fresh and of reasonable quality.
Since I was the only customer, I had a long talk with the owner. She told me she was aware of the reviews mentioning a long wait. That's why they changed the kitchen and hired extra personnel. The not so clean toilet as mentioned by one reviewer still needs improvement. Except for that, TerraZen Centre seems to be improving all the time.
Pros: close to Amsterdam Central station, good Japanese food
Cons: not cheap, toilet needs improvement

Terrible! - Edit
We visited this place on January 3 and we were very disappointed with this place. We were initially excited about it being a 100% vegan restaurant but the food was way over priced. Also, their portions, expecially the jamaican plate were were small. We had a small portion of rice, green lettuce and some plain veggies on the jamaican plate. Probably only worth 1 euro or less but they charged almost 17 euros for this plate. It felt dirty and their toilet was very run down and filthy. Service... very unhelpful. Also, the food here takes about 45 mins to 1 hour to receive. If you decide to visit here, try the ramen noodle soup. It's one dish that we found tasty.
