Serves meat, vegan options available. Rooftop restaurant within the Khiva Ichon-Qala, right next to the Ark. Vegetarian options are clearly marked on the menu: sandwich, pumpkin dumplings, grilled vegetable plate. Some vegetarian options can be made vegan upon request - specify no dairy no egg. Waitstaff does not understand what "vegan" means.

Your average option in Uzbekistan - Edit
While they do have a lot of vegetarian options marked, it's a little difficult to make clear your vegan wishes. The dish I got was pretty delicious in the end tho.

Good uzbek food with a great view - Edit
There are quite a view vegetarian dieses that are clearly marked on the menu.
Read moreWe tasted Shivit Oshi and the Vegetarian Plov, both were tasty. It is clearly a touristy place, but the view on the terrace is worth it. It filled up quickly so it might be good to make a reservation if you want to sit outside for sunset.

Vegan plov… With a view - Edit
Vegetarian options are clearly marked - and there are several. Unfortunately, I was told that neither the “noodills” (shivit oshi) nor the dumplings are vegan as there’s eggs in the dough, but the vegan plov was good. Homemade ginger lemonade is a hit!

This is a really busy restaurant so make sure you state and state again, what you want. I showed them a picture from this site and we finally got there. It took forever though and I ended up with takeout

Pricey tourist spot - Edit
My bill came out to 143K som for what ended up being very small portions. Mezze were not just tiny but not particularly tasty or satisfying. Eggplant salad was fine, but again not large. A pot of green tea cost 20K. Coffees are 40K . It's an Instagram-worthy cafe but not a good value if you are hungry.

Just what we needed - Edit
Much better than Old Terrassa for range of veg dishes and service. The salads were tasty with good dressings and seasoning. The veg kebabs were great. It wasn’t the most expensive place we ate in Khiva but definitely the best

Best meal in Uzbekistan but... - Edit
We had a very good meal, probably the best in Uzbekistan, but they really didn't want to make any change in the menu. For exemple I took a 5 mezze starter and one was not vegan and it coudn't be change for something else. But still, everything was tasty and very well prepared. The eggplants salad and the grean noodle (cream on the side) were excellent. The pumpkin dumpling were good. I ask for a spinach dumpling without cheese and it has cheese, don't take other than pumpkin or potatoes. The view is also beautifull.

Good food, decent portions, slightly pricey - Edit
Lots of vegetarian & vegan options available with clear markings & description in the menu. Decent portions too. I ordered the Shivit Oshi which was fully vegan except the yoghurt which is given on the side and can be easily avoided

Best option in Khiva - Edit
It’s a nice restaurant with a separate vegetarian menu, including dishes that are, or can be made vegan. Flavors are good, staff is friendly. Prices are a bit on the higher site but unfortunately the options are very limited in Khiva. This is definitely the best restaurant we found.

Tasty, but careless - Edit
They serve several veggie options, maybe the best were the spinach and pumpkin dumplings (steamed and fried), delicious and filling. But they brought the wrong plate with some meat inside, so we had to return it. Plus, they always had yoghourt apart.
Read moreThe place has wonderfull views, but it can get crowded.
Pros: Veggie options available (!) and labelled (!!), Nice views
Cons: They're not aware enough about veganism, Crowded

Average - Edit
I told the waitress that I'm vegan and she said okay i know what that is and proceeded to explain what things from the menu can be made without dairy, eggs, or animals. We got a salad, vegetable soup, pumpkin manti, grilled veggies, and a sort of crepe filled with spinach. All fantastic, but they brought everything out with a side of yogurt, which makes me question if there was some kind of miscommunication or misunderstanding. We had to send back the manti which were served with a huge dollop of yogurt in the center of the plate. They made another one and it was my favorite thing from the menu because they really fill it up.

Decent and nice view - Edit
Lovely that the place in town with the best terrace view is v-friendly.
Read moreTheir menu labels vegetarians and for vegan you got to discuss a bit back and forth with the English speaking waiter to get the point over - if only they understood “No dairy”.
I ended up with the grilled vegetables and potatoes (aka French fries) and tomato sauce (a spicy thin salsa type sauce).
Rather yummy!
Menu has a few vegetarian options but very limited vegan options (as usual in Uzbekistan).
Pros: Nice view, Vegetarian options labeled , Vegan options available
Cons: Limited vegan options.
