Best vegan food in Riga! - Edit

Best, and as far as I know the only vegan-only place in Riga. Excellent food, all the classic vegan foods - tofu, seitan, tempeh, falafel and pretty much everything that you'd imagine would be in a vegan cafe. Cakes and sweets are also top-notch, with quite a variety of choice, great coffee with pretty much every vegan milk type there is.
And last, but definitely not least, great costumer service and wonderful, calming atmosphere, lots of light and plants, comfy couches and even a vinyl collection for all kinds of mood.
Definitely suggest to everyone wanting to have a vegan meal in Riga!

Pros: Excellent food, Excellent service, Awesome vibe

Cons: Not open on sundays :(

Healthy brunch - Edit

We went here for brunch and we're pleased by the offerings. Dont expect a massive spread of items like a German brunch. These dishes mainly revolved around salads and cold dishes. They had 2 types of soups, 3 to 4 salads and about 6 different types of yummy dips and soft fallafels to go with it, roasted potatoes and bread. We were stuffed at the end and it was healthy.

Brunch is 10 euros and drinks are around 2-4 euros

Pros: Everything was vegan

Cons: we were lucky to find a table so make sure you boo

Great place - Edit

Homemade food, nice vibe, friendly staff, and old school jazz! Also, they serve one of the best brunch in Riga, it takes place every Saturday and cost you 9-10 EUR per person!

Pros: Good value, excellent falafels, great coffee

Cons: Not all options are gluten free

Delicious - Edit

Small menu but really tasty with a 2 course lunch special (at about 2 pm when I was there and was perfect), tapas, burgers (which my gf had and they were tasty too) as well as nice desserts. Looks hipster but varied range of customers and nice atmosphere.

Pros: vegan and cheap

High expectations not met - Edit

I found Terapija here on Happy Cow - which naturally led to very high expectations. Unfortunately, I ended up with a rather disappointing experience.
First of all, they didn't have a menu to choose from at all, but only offered hamburgers (and some tapas dish but it sounded more like a starter)
Being gluten intolerant, I asked for something else than bread, which they promised they could organize. But when the food came - I got bread anyway.
Later, they offered me a dessert as compensation, which was nice of them, but still I didn't feel completely satisfied, as I was pretty hungry when I got there and the portions were very small.
When it was time to pay, they told us they only accept cash. So we had to walk in the rain to an atm and all the way back.
I was really looking forward to try this place, and I was probably just unlucky, but this really put me off and made my evening and my mood a little less good.

Great All Vegan Place! - Edit

A cosy little restaurant hidden away on the outskirts of Riga. The dinner menu was small but delicious, consisting of wholesome soups, burgers, salads and tempting raw and cooked desserts. We tried the tomato minestrone soup for €2, beetroot burger for €4.50 and a grilled tofu salad for €3. Topped it all off with a soya latte and raw brownie. Would highly recommended. The staff spoke good English and were very friendly. Would definitely go back!

Excellent lunch, brunch and cake ordering place - Edit

Excellent vegan place.
In weekdays a delicious lunch combo (for 4,50 €) is available and on Saturdays there are brunch events with many different meals (all delicious and vegan of course).
In addition vegan cakes are available for pre-ordering (so if you need a vegan birthday cake this is the right place to go, usually the cake should be ordered at least 24 hours before picking it up).

Pros: Very tasty and 100% vegan, Good lunch serving sizes, Good prices

Best place to eat vegan food in Riga! - Edit

Finally I found 100% vegan restaurant. Not vegetarian, not veg-friendly, but vegan! The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable, the atmosphere and music was soothing. Not a lot to choose from the menu, but if there were many menu options, I'd probably try everything in one go.

Pros: Excellent food, Good amosphere, Very reasonable prices

Good food, relaxing atmosphere - Edit

I went here for lunch, after reading all the reviews. They did not serve brunch that day so i ordered a lunch combo: soup, drink and some beans and potatoes. Soup was ginger and pumpkin and it was excellent! Beans and potatoes.. Nothing spectacular but good solid very filling food. I was especially surprised by the prices! For whole my lunch i paid less than 5 euro!! Overall a really good place. I would deffinetely come back here for that brunch buffer ;)

Pros: food, prices!!, music is lovely

Cons: quite far from the historical center

Scrumptiously Vegan! - Edit

This is not only Riga's only 100% vegan restaurant, but wonderfully scrumptious, affordable and friendly!
Their food always pleases the taste buds and the appetite, the staff is friendly, and for me the location is perfect: just around the block and very central!
They have good taste in music, spinning on the record player. I recall seeing Miles Davis, The Smiths, and hearing some unknown blues that went very well with the relaxed atmosphere.
The place is so bright with floor to ceiling windows on two sides. They could turn it into a greenhouse/restaurant. They actually have tomato plants in the window with ripening tomatoes just asking to be picked.
It's such a pity that I'm moving away from Riga. I wish them much success so when I come back I can eat there again!

Pros: affordable, central, friendly

Cons: none

Great Brunch and Food. - Edit

Visited for the Saturday Brunch in August, 2016.

We arrived around 15.00 (the brunch runs until 16.00); but there was still plenty of choices available.
Everything regarding the brunch was superb, the variety, the taste, the price (€8!!!)...
Dishes were labeled both in Latvian and English.

Terapija is a great addition to the vegan scene in Riga (finally a 100% vegan restaurant here!), so I strongly encourage you to pay them a visit if you are in the city.

As for us, we will come back whenever we can. :)

Pros: good value, tasty, variety of dishes

Cons: not a single one

Great vegan buffet! - Edit

This is a new vegan spot that opened up recently and I was fortunately in town to try it. We went on a Saturday evening and got the buffet, which is 8€. My faves were the potato salad, the beet falafel (tastes so much better than it looks), the cheesy bread and the dessert option which was this peanut butter chocolatey biscuit.

Pros: delicious food, all you can eat buffet, great staff, super friendly, beautiful & clean din

Cons: limited to buffet depending on time you go, but bu

Excellent Food in Riga - Edit

I am new on happycow.net and have just used it to find good food in Tallinn, Tartu and Riga. Writing my first review now to recommend Terapija in Riga to everyone. During our stay we have been there three times (ones for breakfast, ones for lunch and ones for brunch). The dishes have been, without exception, very, very good. I highly recommend the brunch-buffet which has been the best I ever ate (8 Euro pP.).

Pros: excellent food, nice stuff, cheap

Cons: unsteady tables

Best food in town - Edit

The food, served only at lunchtime, is handsdown the best I ate during my two week baltic tour. Also try the local craft beers, "sans slide" (IPA) is my favorite.

Oh and don't forget to taste their breakfast too!

Pros: Completly vegan, Inexpensive, Super friendly staff

Cons: None at all

Thanks Oskars and the team for really domestic cozy atmosphere. Everyone can satisfy the appetite, by choosing the most appropriate dish for yourself and by yourself(self-service). Just visit that nice place if visited Riga:)
