Authentic Chinese Temple Vegetarian Food

This is really not a restaurant or cafe or eatery. It seems like, some volunteers were cooking for the volunteers and monk during the weekend. They got some extra, so, they could spare some to you, upon request. Then you make a donation in the donation box in the temple, whatever amount you want. Nobody seems to mind or make sure that you do so though. We arrived at around 11.15am and i asked the staff there whether they sell vegetarian food. Was told to come back between 12.30pm - 1pm (i thought this is their lunch time). When we came back and asked another volunteer about the meal, he told us to ask at the kitchen. Another volunteer asked us how many people and went to the kitchen and came back with a plate of rice with 3 dishes for each of us. We ate at the canteen. Nothing fancy, but surely home cook. If you are around the Souvenir city or White Water rafting during lunch time, then, this could be a place for you. Not a place to come just for the food though. They have free distribution Buddhist books and sell also Chinese speciality such as vegetarian moon cake during the 8th month of the Chinese calendar.

Pros: Real Chinese buddhist temple food

Tasty, pure, satisfying

This has to be the best vegan value in Niagara Falls. $7 for all-you-can-eat vegan Buddhist food, located in a beautiful temple complex very close to the Falls. Only open from about mid-June to mid-October and around lunch time - best to call ahead.
