unique & much needed!

Ithaca finally has a Star Trek (TNG) themed vegan cafe! The breakfast sandwich is great, the fresh tomato takes it to the next level, and the breakfast shake is a meal in itself, yummy & healthy, and super hearty. The cafe is upstairs within the bookstore, no visit to the commons would be complete without stopping for a meal or snack.

Pros: Star Trek , location

People using veganism to benefit themselves

Was treated poorly by staff. The first year they opened they started banning people for judgement. Is not really be vegan. I think they gave me dairy without my consent. The manager and owner are not even vegan. Well the owner is almost.

Pros: The customers

Cons: Not vegan, Poor management

DELICIOUS VEGAN FOOD IN ITHACA!

Wow, Ten Forward was so good. I got the Garbage Dog and my boyfriend got the Space Junk burrito. Both were outstanding. There was only one woman working but she held it down like a champ and managed to get us our food quickly despite the lunch rush. If I find myself in Ithaca again, I will definitely be stopping here again!

Wonderful!

This cute, cozy cafe has a great menu filled with delicious vegan dishes. They also have a rotating section of vegan desserts; I really enjoyed the gingerbread bar— it was delicious!!!!!

Amazing

Visiting from Long Island, we have nothing close to food like this in our area, or in all of Manhattan. Why can't other vegan chefs create food like this?? I had the Garbage Dog, which was drool worthy. My friend had the Space Garbage Nachos, which all the same toppings as the Garbage Dog plus salsa. Even the coleslaw was amazing. We will be back tomorrow for breakfast (which is served all day anyway)!

Pros: Delicious creations that tops anything, similar in the NYC/Long Island area, Reasonable prices for what they serve

Cons: Nothing yet!

Excellent Place!

The nicest people and the most delicious vegan food we’ve had in New York! Also, the gluten free options were more than I’ve ever seen. We were in heaven! The buffalo quesadillas (made gluten free), space junk burrito and Mac and cheese (both regular and gluten free) were amazing. She told us most menu items can be made gluten free. Go find this place for sure! We went back twice

Pros: All vegan!, Friendly , Lots of gluten free options

Favorite place in Ithaca!

I love this cafe and come there all the time. I almost always get the garbage nachos, but I tried a couple of other things off the menu and they're all delicious. Good desserts and tea selection. Good selection of board and card games. Great place for bookworms like myself, as it's located in a big used bookstore. Some nights they even have live music!

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Regular coffee is not great

Favorite Restaurant EVER

I've been coming here ever since it opened, and to the food truck where it originated even before that. The food is delicious, it's usually quite quick, and although it's a LITTLE pricey, it's not nearly as expensive as some other vegan places I've been to. I love the Star Trek paraphernalia all around, as well as the books and rainbow flags.
This is my all-time favorite restaurant, and I'm able to get something new every time, since they have a rotating display case with delicious things. It's a little hard to find seating sometimes, but you can easily get your food to go and find seating outside on the Commons.

Pros: Delicious food, Welcoming environment, Nachos

Cons: A bit pricey

Don’t Pass By!!

Ten Forward Cafe was amazing! The Tofurkey Rachel was one of the most interesting and delicious sandwiches I’ve ever had. (And, it came with greens - a nice, healthy bonus.) The Mac n’ Cheese was wonderful. And the cinnamon roll? Best vegan version I’ve ever shoved in my face!!

Pros: Friendly staff, Quick to-go options, Mix of healthy and “vacation” foods

Yum yum yum

I was really happy with my seitan-sandwich and salad. I asked for the dill/tahini sauce which was epic. True, the salad was a bit plain (just mixed greens and dressing), but overall I felt my meal was really balanced.
In all honesty the coffee was the most disappointing aspect, but only because there is such other great coffee available in Ithaca.

Pros: All-vegan menu, Interesting sandwich variations

Cons: Staff could have been a bit friendlier/lively

Amazing!

This place is amazing! Sooo good!! I have never had a less than excellent meal here. They have a nice selection of real, down to earth, delicious food. Their baked goods are also amazing, and I am extremely picky with baked goods. My favorite meals are buffalo quesadillas and garbage dogs. Thank you for introducing me to soy curls! Luckily I work around the corner so I can come frequently. Ithaca is very lucky to have this place!

Pros: Delicious , Baked goods are excellent , Reasonable prices

Cons: Atmosphere , No delivery , It’s hard to think of a con about it!

Cheap and Solid

Had the mac and cheese and the BBQ tacos. Both were tasty, I also tried my girlfriend's BLT. If I ever go back, that will be my order. The food is good, and cheap. Good quality but not gourmet or anything.

Quaint, hopeful, and interesting

Entirely vegan cafe, tea and coffee options (incl. Hemp milk and oat milk as options), vegan comfort foods, milk shakes, and baked goods/desserts.

Their menu has changed a little bit, even since the last time I went there, part of the menu was an homage to one of the owners (the owner?) food truck that was science fiction themed.

Generally their food is flavorful, but not exactly healthy. The food itself tends to be overdone with the dressing, so I would tell you to ask for light dressings when getting a sandwich.

Last time my significant other and I went, she got the Garbage hotdog plate, and it did not really have texture or a discernable taste. However, the buffalo quesadilla was very flavorful and tasty.

This time around, she got the Rachel Tofurky which is similar to a Thanksgiving sandwich, however the dressing was overused. I got the BLT, and it was flavorful, however the dressing was again overused. When we got the Mac N Cheese, the sauce was a little runny and almost tasted off?

We did get the cinnamon roll with peanut butter last time and it was delicious. The scone we got was also really good. The smores plate (?) Was not all that great, which we were disappointed in.

The people who run the shop are very nice, and run it very well, however I will say it is incredibly hot up there. And to a point, I'm not sure if they are really freshly making these foods or either microwaving them or toasting them quickly in an oven.

Pros: Coffee/Tea Options are great, Inexpensive , Good location/convenient

Cons: Lack of food diversity, lack of freshness, Hot seating area

cute place for good price.

Nice and off the normal path. Came here for our tour and wanted to try a quick vegan meal. The staff was wonderful and I left full which is always wonderful. Everyone should grab a book, drink some tea and relax.

not impressed

I was really hopeful that this would be a great vegan option when my family is in Ithaca. It was not. The atmosphere is great and the space has a lot of potential however, the kitchen area was not clean or well organized, the staff was not very friendly or helpful and the food was terrible. It was like crappy diner food for vegans. Highly processed food, not many healthy options and nothing seemed to be homemade. The sandwiches were small and not flavorful and the Mac and Cheeze was absolutely awful! The “side salad” was just greens with some dressing squirted on top. We had planned to get desert but the food was so bad we decided against it. We will not be going back.

Pros: cool location

Cons: not clean and terrible food

Quirky Cafe with Good Food

I really enjoyed my Picardo Bello sandwich special and salad with curry dressing. I also really liked that they had nutritional yeast in the condiment bar.

amazing find!

What a great find this cafe was. 100% vegan and 100% delicious. Ordered the Tofurkey rachel and it was amazing. My friend ordered the un-chicken salad sandwich which she loved. Recommend to anyone!! Will definitely be back.

just getting started

Ten forward Cafe has only been open for one month, and this is still technically a soft start I believe. However if this is any indication of where the place will likely be a few months from now or even at the end of this year I'm very excited! Despite the food being high high-quality, it is actually also quite affordable I look forward to eating here again and often!

Also it's one of the only places anywhere I've been able to find shakes that are made with bananas as a base with no additional added sugar or sweeteners I can finally have a shake again without feeling terrible afterwards highly recommended!

Pros: 1000% vegan, good prices

Cons: limited menu to start
