A very nice restaurant in the centre of the castle district. - Edit
The opening hours on Google and Happy Cow probably apply for tourist season only, the restaurant was closed when we went there in the evening, and the whole castle district was silent and empty, so we came back the following day. The restaurant was traditionally furnished and we had a view of the mountains from the window. We visited in March and it was a bit cold in the room. The two of us shared stuffed eggplant and okra, fried potatoes, and homemade herbal tea. The chef explained what was vegan on the menu. Later she brought us a piece of homemade sponge cake on the house, which we’re sure wasn’t vegan, so either she forgot we were vegan or didn’t understand what it meant. Now that I think of it, we probably explicitly asked about meat and milk in the meals but not eggs. Everything was tasty, though not as tasty as at the Friendly House we had visited the day before (except for the drinks). A cat sat beside us the whole time we ate and only left when she/he saw that there weren’t any leftovers😄In case you’re wondering about protein: We didn’t encounter any plant protein sources on any traditional restaurant menu in Albania.

A gem for anyone seeking a warm and welcoming dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and had a great understanding of the vegan diet to ensure that anything we ordered was suitable.
Read moreWe opted for the stuffed peppers and stuffed pumpkin and both were great. I was worried they would be a bit 'samey' but they had such different tastes it was great!
Would definitely recommend.

We ate at Temi twice during our visit to Berat! It's up the hill with the castle, so the perfect place after sunset.

Amazing!! - Edit
Probably the best food we've had in all of Albania. Simple, home-cooked meals with incredible depth of flavour. Every single dish was simply wonderful. Also, excellent and very, very friendly service. Cute outdoor seating, too. I'm in love with this place 😍

Ordered all the vegan items on the menu! Stuffed peppers, aubergine, courgette. We had the okra too. All were absolutely delicious - so much flavour. Lovely location by the castle and friendly family who run it. We were given fresh figs as we left. Wish we could return but was our last day in berat!

Les plats étaient vraiment très bons, cuisinés maison ! Précisez bien que vous êtes Vegan car ils mettent du fromage râpés sur certains plats. Mais ils sont hyper compréhensifs et disponibles 🙏🏻

Stopped here for lunch and really pleased we did. Had stuffed aubergine, squash and French fries. All delicious and served by the mum as the daughter was away. Her English was fine though and the food excellent. The revelation was the rice soup, which doesn't sound exciting but was incredible, lots of lemon and a deep flavour, no idea what else.
