Delicious pizza - Edit
We came in here to dine and was surprised at how large the vegan selection was! The vegan cheese they use is amazing, we should have gone up to ask. I had one with pepperoni which was delicious, will definitely be back if I'm in the area.

Ordered the plain garlic bread and margarita pizza (add mushrooms and olives) for collection. Order ready in half hour and did not disappoint. Will be revisiting for a sit down meal here.

Worth waiting for - Edit
Hands down the best vegan pizzas I've ever had, but fair warning the delivery wait is usually an hour on a good day and tonight it's been two (they couldn't take orders for half an hour because they were so busy) but just factor the wait in because they are so worth it.

Loved it! - Edit
Adored this place. The woman that served us (brown hair and stretched ears) was so lovely and really made the experience just as much as the food. We had a garlic bread, a calzone and a brownie and everything was just amazing. There were so many vegan options, we didn’t know what to pick as we certainly aren’t used to that! It was just a great business with great food and a lovely atmosphere 💚

So good! - Edit
I needed vegan food on a Saturday night in Redcar. I thought my luck was out until I stumbled on Tegridy. I had the Vegan Supremacist pizza and it was a triumph. They had several other options. Super quick and friendly and incredibly tasty. Thanks guys.

The best vegan pizzas - Edit
I loved that the majority of the menu could be made vegan. I also loved that they are promoting veganism by offering 25% off to vegans only on Tuesday evenings.
Read moreIt's a cosy restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. They are currently waiting for their alcohol licence, we are allowed to bring our own alcohol for a price of £1 per head. It made the overall bill much cheaper to be fair so it benefited us. 😊
Pros: There are so many vegan options., The pizzas taste great., Lovely friendly staff.
Cons: They serve animal products too.

Delicious vegan options - Edit
Not a vegan restaurant but most options can be veganised. Really nice vegan mozzarella as well as a range of vegan meat replacements. Very reasonably priced and staff were super friendly and helpful. Love the shaped pizzas for kids!

The best pizzas - Edit
I’m a bit of a freak for pizza (I’d gladly eat it for every meal if possible) and this was top5 territory for me. A huge range of vegan options. We went for a pepper-noni and a Vegano Grecia. Both were delicious. The vegan mozzarella was probably the best I can recall having and the flavour of the fresh sauce was excellent; flavourful crust with just a hint of chewiness. No complaints from me😄

We tried this tonight and it was lovely as vegan pizza options are few and far between. They had plenty of different vegan toppings to choose from eg pepperoni, chicken etc.

Perfect vegan pizzas - Edit
An amazing little pizza place in Redcar which I’m so glad we found on Happy Cow.
Read moreDelicious pizza made in wood-fired ovens with a perfect, light dough and every one can be vegan. The complimentary garlic bites came with vegan garlic mayo and the garlic bread was beautiful.
Tried the margherita and the veggie supremacist which had loads of delicious veg packed on it. The vegan mozzarella is definitively the nicest we've ever had. Soft drinks available (not alcohol).
Friendly staff and a relaxed and informal setting. Definitely worth a visit.
Pros: The mozzarella , Vegan version for all the pizzas, Friendly relaxed surroundings

Where to start with this place!!
Read moreThe owner is so friendly and up to tweak the toppings if you ask nicely.
We usually get the vegan paninis, garlic bread and wedges - but have tried the pizzas and everything has always tasted so good!
When ordering for delivery, staff keep us updated on any delays - we never mind as everything is made from scratch by hand. It shows in the taste and quality of the food, it's fantastic and really good value too.
Pros: Can veganise most things on the menu, Garlic bread is incredible!, Lots of seating and takeaway option
Cons: Waiting times sometimes - worth it though!

Hi Kirsty! Thank you so much for the recommendation. I'm glad you appreciate the vegan options we have. We put a lot of effort into acquiring stock from numerous suppliers and places to keep the options available for everyone!
Read moreAlso happy you like our dough. We put a lot of effort into the making of it.
We use our own wholemeal, dark rye and caputo 00 blue mother yeasts to make a poolish sourdough pre-ferment, which is proved for approx 18 hours, and then we use the poolish as 30% ish of our full batch of dough, refreshed with a little bit of fresh yeast (literally like 0.5g / 1g) and proved for 20ish hours, and then we ball it up and cold prove the dough for, in our opinion: Redcar's superior homemade pizza dough! All that just to make a batch of 45 dough balls so we do this 2-3 times a day, 5 days a week :)

Wow Wee Tegridy - Edit
If I could, I’d give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read moreTwo wood-fired pizza ovens and a fantastic menu for meat eaters, veggies and vegans - all our family dietary preferences in one place. Plenty of vegan specials to choose from too.
The dough is made fresh every day, then hand stretched and spun before being loaded up and cooked in a scorching wood-fired pizza oven.
A family of 5 eating vegan, veggie and meat options of pizza and calzone with the kids eating kiddos pizzas had a unanimous verdict - they are the best pizzas we’ve ever eaten. The dough is tasty, is soft but with bite and is crispy with that wood-fired taste. The toppings were cooked to perfection and blew us away. The vegan cheese and the marinara sauce made a huge difference to the flavour.
4 main pizzas - 1 Calzone, 2 kiddo pizzas with an extra topping., an additional vegan garlic sauce, 2 cokes, 3 waters and a huge garlic bread (free for spending more than £20) came to £38.70. Put it this way, my kids have been back on their own with their pocket money more than once, just for the fun pizzas. A bargain any day, but a real bargain when you consider the quality of the food.
Update Jan 23. Been 6 times now. On the latest I had the calzone again and it was better than I’d had before - they’d changed the way they cooked it. Great job Sam, you nailed it. The ‘Nacho Average Pizza’ with vegan cheese was on a new level. Crunchy nachos on a chilli pizza with jalapeños - hot stuff.
There’re 3 oils on each table to dip the pizza crust and sides in. A nice touch and we loved them.
Would I go back - Like yeah
Would I recommend - I’d insist you try it.

Pros: Delicious , Good vegan selection, Vegan specials
PizzaioloSamuelIvison
Hi Mark, really glad you've had a good experience with our vegan pizzas.
Read moreReal shame to hear about the calzone. Not sure if it's me or pizzaiolo Phil who have made it inadequately for you but I am curious.
Was it the cheese not melted on the inside or onions not quite cooked enough?
Coming to think of it, in hindsight. We should probably pre fry the onions for a calzone as when they're enclosed inside they aren't getting the direct heat of the calzone. However I know from when I have made them, I cook them for quite a long while in the oven so that when I add the sauce and cheese to the top, I know that it's nicely cooked underneath before the final quick blast in the oven.
If you could let me know specifically whether it was the dough inside, the onions inside or the cheese inside that was undercooked for both your experiences I'd greatly appreciate it and we will work towards perfecting this.
If you like afterwards I'll even sort you one for free to try it out and give us another rating after we work on it.
Another thought I've had is for dine-in is it worth serving the sauce separately, warm, so you can spoon it over your calzone how you like and maybe we just melt some vegan cheddar over the top?
Interested in your thoughts as you know your stuff.

Hi Sam
Read moreIt’s not rare for me to get a response from an owner, manager or chef about a review. But it’s rare to get one which is completely focussed on improvement and customer experience.
I’ve had the same result twice and I’m not sure who the pizza chef was. The calzone was undercooked the dough was soft but had cooked. It was mainly the cheese and onions inside because were raw, with the middle only just getting warm. What struck me as odd was the second time when another customer returned theirs saying it wasn’t cooked. For this I assumed you hadn’t mastered calzone cooking, hence my positive review for everything else, but just don’t order the calzone.
I’m no pizza chef, but my partner was at a large chain many yeasts ago. She agrees that pre-cooking the ingredients before assembling would be a smart move.
On the subject of the sauce and cheese. We are both in favour of it being put on and being cooked by the chef rather than at the table. But that’s a preference and not a request or demand.
Kids love Tegridy as do we. So we’ll be along at the weekend and I’ll try the Calzone again. No need to give it free.
Are you cooking on Saturday?
Thanks
Mark.

I went back and had the calzone. Sam cooked it and It was incredible. So much so that I had to share it with the others. All agreed it was lovely and filling too. Thanks

Hi Mark, I appreciate you giving me some more insight into how your calzones turned out on both occasions. Pre-cooking the fillings is definitely the way to go I'll be passing it onto the others as the new method.
Read moreThere's always room to improve. Believe it or not I began my pizzaiolo journey in Dec 2019 and have been on/off pizza cheffing through 2020 and 2021 sometimes full time, sometimes part-time and have developed my skills massively in such a short time which I am particularly proud😄So naturally, there's a huge room for improvement in all aspects but I think the will I have to try new things and be creative has raised my limits much higher than the average pizzaiolo. Same goes for Phil, his shape ideas are awesome!
It's great to get to discuss these vegan options and how to improve them as they are completely new-style and calzones that we are making, before Tegridy Foods at our last pizza place we worked we only had the option for substituting mozzarella for vegan cheddar which was very limited. Nothing special.
To be able to discuss and find areas of improvement is great as we don't have all the answers and after all, everyone is the god of their own taste buds and preferences so being able to tweak everything to people's individual preference allows us to provide an option for as many as possible.
When I make pizza, I try to recreate the amazing experience I had in December 2019 trying wood-fired pizza for the first time, it blew me away. So tasty! I strive to provide that same experience to everyone who tries my pizzas and if not, well daym, I will strive to provide it the second time just like I have done here with the vegan calzone for you :)
P.S. Super sorry for not getting back to you about cooking on Saturday, I'm super glad you came down regardless it was nice to be able to serve you and have a chat about it all.
Till next time,
With Tegridy,

Top notch pizzeria - Edit
When I first arrived at this venue my first impression was that it was incredibly cozy due to the small size, but not to the point of making it feel claustrophobic.
Read moreQuick service, friendly staff, several people cooking the pizzas and 1 person serving
I had the jackhammer pizza with the addition of veggies which was sadly overpowered by the onion, however my partner had the vegan pepperoni pizza which tasted absolutely amazing! The vegan garlic sauce portion was massive for just £1 and tasted delicious. We were offered a free garlic bread as our order came to over £20 and also a free mince pie.
For £11-12 per pizza you can't fall off! 100% recommend this venue to anyone!
Pros: Tasty food, Incredible value for money, Good vibe
PizzaioloSamuelIvison
Hi Sophie, thank you so much for taking the time to review us. I am super happy to see you like our venue.
Read moreLooking at your vegan Jackhammer. It would appear I have over-topped it with extra veg especially the onions like you say overpowering it.
We've been back and forth lately with topping amounts of less is more but for many more is better, so still occasionally finding the right balance for topping amounts.
In hindsight, if it's added as an extra we should be putting less of it on so that overall there's not too much.
Hopefully on your next visit I will ace your vegan pizza however you have it.
FYI we will be doing a few more vegan munchie mayhems this Veganuary, so that should be my chance to shine for redemption and making you a flawless vegan pizza.
Again, thanks for the honest feedback it gives me something to work on and improve :)
