so, so special (and the carrot cake is exquisite!)

This place. MY HEART! Rebecca is an absolute treasure. I posted on the cafe's Facebook page to tell her how excited my partner and I were to be able to eat at a vegan cafe on Inis Oírr, and in the days leading up to our visit Rebecca kept me updated via FB chat about her opening times and menu. We got coffee, kombucha, tomato soup with homemade brown bread for lunch, and cakes for dessert (carrot for him, forest fruit gateau for me), and everything was perfect. We chatted with Rebecca and her partner Fionnan for a good while and feel lucky to count them as friends. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Pros: lovely owner + atmosphere, delicious soup and brown bread, THE BEST cakes!!!

Delicious food and super friendly owners

Stopped in for some coffee and left with a wonderful experience. I don’t know when I’ll get back to the Aran Islands again, but when I do this will be the first place I go!

Great venue

I would highly recommend a visit to this vegan cafe. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. For those who go to the beautiful island of Inis Oirr there is no better place to eat. The informal atmosphere is in keeping with the tranquillity of the island and the proprietors are very obliging.

Pros: Good food, Friendly atmosphere , Good value

I'm jealous

Rebecca and Fionnán have set up a wonderful business for themselves here. The only cloud on their horizon is the very short season but I hope vegans out there will help extend that season. Please pass the word around about Bláth na Gréine, it deserves all your support.

We sat down for the full Irish on a wet Sunday morning and it was almost too much, it was so filling but just my sort of breakfast. The coffee was excellent too. I've written an account of our trip at livingvegan.ie

A slight warning: there's a picture of a breakfast we were given here shown below - take note that I think us bedraggled people may have been treated a wee bit extra-generously that day! So be fair to the proprietors and don't expect to get exactly the same.

Anyway, we went to work off some calories by walking to the other side of the island and back, then headed for Rebecca's for top-up of drinks and snacks: lovely home-made hummus and toasty sandwiches, coffee caff and de-caff, plus cakes and yum and stuff.

Thank you Rebecca and Fionnán, keep up the great work, you are both role models to all vegans (and everyone else) and do you need a washer-up?

A gem ! You have got to go here !

Wow ! You CANNOT miss out on this place. A MUST for anybody vegan or not ! After a very short stroll from the harbour we arrived at Te Teolaí ( which is located in the same building as a great craft store called an ceard shiopa) . What an adorable place! A real homely atmosphere which we really enjoyed whilst trying to make up our minds with all the treats on offer . I have been twice already this summer and cannot wait for the next visit . Visited with a vegan and non vegan . Both absolutely loved it . We had the carrot cake and coffee which were absolutely the BEST. We just had to take some for takeaway - so good ! We returned later in the day after biking the island for the hot meal of the day which was so wholesome and filling . A very short stroll and we were back on the boat to Doolin from the harbour again . Put this place on your LIST and GO !

Pros: Delicious food , Super knowledgeable and friendly staff, Homely atmosphere

Cons: There are none !

Two great meals!

We told our AirBnB host that we were vegan and she replied, "have you been to the vegan pop up?" I was sure she misunderstood what "vegan" meant. A vegan pop up on this quiet little island of 260 people? That can't be. But sure enough, when we arrived, Rebecca greeted us and said she was thinking about making a tomato-basil soup with brown bread. The soup and bread were delicious, and Rebecca was a great host.

We even went back the next morning for a veganized traditional Irish breakfast of sausage, tomatoes, beans, and more delicious bread.

This place is great, and I hope if you go that you'll give yourself lots of time to slowly meander across beautiful Inis Oirr.

Pros: Great service, Delicious food
