Lovely Greek taverna - Edit
We had a lovely meal. We had vegetable rolls to start and the stifado and the mousaka. There were multiple different option we could have chosen. All the food was very nice. The owners are lovey people.

Everything was just amazing, the atmosphere, there place, the food and the owner Julia. Thank you for this experience ❤️. We had the vegan moussaka, flogeres and stifado and all of them were sooo tasty. I asked for the homemade brownie but it for sold out so we got some traditional desert as a present :). I can just highly recommend this restaurant!

We got the vegan stifado and vegan moussaka. Both delicious. Unfortunatly the vegan brownie wasnt prepared, but we were assured that it would be tomorrow.

We were seated in the beautiful garden which is covered by large trees providing shade, creating a calm and serene ambience.

The traditional Greek food itself was exceptional. The menu is largely vegetarian and vegan, with some animal-based dishes in between. Everything is well marked (v for vegetarian, vg for vegan). Let me just say that the vegan Moussaka is to die for!
Nothing feels like an afterthought. The vegan dishes aren't just traditional recipes with substitutions stuck inside, but are well rounded creations filled with flavor. The meat dishes are fantastic too, so it's a great place for mixed groups of people to go to.
I would have liked to give the Taverna Garden a full 5 stars, but happy cow only allows max. 4 stars for restaurants that aren't 100% vegetarian/vegan.

Lovely to sit outside and great service - so considerate. (Brought grated vegan cheese for the pasta and a fruit platter on the house as desert for me) Food was delicious! and more options than just pasta although the bolo was delicious. We loved everything and it wasn’t expensive.

We went around this region, looking for a vegan birthday cake. We got to know the owner of Taverna Garden who is a nice genuine greek elder man. It turned out that his daughter was responsible for the vegan options on the menu, of which there are several. Since both the welcoming man and the lovely seating area seemed like a perfect dinner spot, we came back in the evening. The food was good, the experience was great. Julia is lovely and she went out of her way to help us find a birthday cake. Which was a delicious chocolate cake from Ma Douce patisserie.💁🏻♀️

We loved it! Many vegan and Vegetarian options, they also have vegan feta Which is Not Listed on the menu. Very friendly and flexible service. Definitely Would recommend this Place😄

We stopped here on our first night in Crete and received such a warm welcome! Family run restaurant with lots of labelled vegan options including vegan versions of local specialities such as moussaka and cretan pies. We were even given vegan ice cream on the house as they had run out of the vegan brownie! Lovely courtyard off the main street and wonderful hosts! Highly recommend. Thank you Julia!

We ate here a few times because the food was fantastic. This is a family run business and the daughters are vegetarian and vegan. We had the most delicious food and the service was great. We were given lots of tasters of vegan options on the menu!

We had a wonderful evening at Julias place. She was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is quiet and placed in a beautifully overgrown backyard. The olive oil and the Raki is home made by her father and everything was freshly cooked and delicious! Taverna Garden is an family owned business and as a guest you will feel really welcome and home. It’s totally vegan friendly and Julia offered us even more vegan options then there were on the menu.
