Not For Vegans!

Stay away from here, basically NO Vegan/Plant Based options except for a side salad. Best to spend your money in a Vegan establishment supporting our community. That is My Opinion 🙂🙂🙂

World famous setting

This is a famous venue in a beautiful setting, inside Central Park. It is located right next to the area in the park known as Sheep's Meadow--and perhaps significantly, this restaurant does cook and serve sheep (i. e., lamb). They don't serve a lot of vegan food, however: only a salad and a vegetable dish, nothing else. Contrary to the HC description, the side dishes here are not listed as vegan (I guess they cook the veggies in butter?). Also, none of the desserts are vegan (though you can get plant milk for your coffee, for an extra fee).

If I were rating this place on the surroundings, rather than the food, I would have given it top billing. I came here when invited to a party (I can't imagine going here voluntarily for the food), and if you are invited here for a party, by all means, go. Again, the setting is lovely, it is nice to know that they have a couple of vegan things, and if you get hungry, you can sneak out and visit Pain Quotidien in the park (a 3-minute walk) before anybody notices that you stepped out. However, if you are looking for vegan food, there are loads of better venues in NYC.
