very cute place - Edit

We found this place easily enough (there’s a huge sign saying Tasty Vegan out on the main road that you can’t miss!) and so glad we did. The family who run it are so incredibly sweet. The food was good, the satay seitan was amazing and noodle soup with crispy wontons was also good. Very reasonably priced. The staff are the main reason I would come back here - we were there for only a short time and in that time the owners had lent another table with kids some hand puppets to play with and had offered another customer his own rain jacket to wear home as it was raining. Truly kind people making amazing food, lovely energy to be around, definitely try it out

Hard to find, but totally worth it ! - Edit

This place was so difficult to find, it’s down an alleyway, through a gate and carpark area, and through another gate into this cute little courtyard.

When we finally got there the food was pretty great and it was so nice to chill out away from the noise of the Bali streets.

It’s also so cheap!

Definitely worth trying to find !

our favourite and salvation when feeling hungry - Edit

Great vegan food, cheap prize. Small restaurant situated just about 100 metres away from all the street hassle, but having it's own really nice garden and just few tables for the customers.

Feels like home - Edit

Everything on the menu is 100% vegan and local. We stayed in the area for a month and visited at least 4 times a week, sometimes for lunch and dinner. The food is so good, made by the waiter's wife in their cute little outdoor kitchen, and the restaurant is placed in the nicest little garden away from the noise of the busy street. The martabak is the best starter, and I absolutely love the vegan pancakes with coconut ice cream for dessert! Also the Mie goreng and nasi goreng! And the cookies are so good! Oh and everything is super cheap compared to everything else we found in Bali, the most expensive dish is 40k! Would definitely recommend.

One place to keep going back to... - Edit

My partner and I just keep coming back here. The Balinese couple that run the restaurant are so amazing and make you feel so at home.
This time round we did a cooking class with them, and we were not disappointed. We learnt how to cook our favourite Indonesian dishes and were well and truely stuffed from all the food we cooked and ate.
Can not recommend Tasty Vegan more highly as a place to eat.

Favourite - Edit

My partner and I love this place so much we continue to return every time we're in Bali. Decent portions and absolutely delicious. We usually get two entrees and two mains plus juices for well under AUD $20 all up. The staff are super friendly too. Don't go past the Mie Goreng and sate - they were our staple. Can't wait to return :)
27th Nov 2017: We did a cooking class with them this morning and highly recommend! You can choose anything to make from the menu. Lots of fun!

Pros: Large portions, Good value for money, Cruelty free

Do yourself a favour and just visit this place. It's so cheap and great tasting you're not really loosing anything. And if you seriously don't like it. The most you'd be out of pocket for a meal and a drink is 45k $4.50 aud

Sweet owner!

Pros: Earthy location

Cons: Not very easy to find! there's a small red sign on

amazing food - Edit

It’s a little bit hidden out the way and the restaurant is very small only a few tables. The business is family run. It’s very beautiful surrounded by trees. The gentleman who served us was very welcoming and the food was very tasty especially the satay soya protein they had as the appetizier. And be sure to take some home made vegan cookies home with you they taste amazing

Will return again 😊

Pros: good food , welcoming staff

Cons: a little hidden out the way

Cheap and filling - Edit

I can only second the previous comment - ice cream and date skewers are a MUST for sure!

Me and my husband visited this placering and tried the soup with soy protein, pizza and sate skewers. While my soup wasn't the top-notch (it was okay I'd say), pizza and skewers were very filling and delicious. They also make a variety of juices costing only 15k. Delicious and fresh.

Pros: inexpensive, fulfilling , nice atmosphere

Cons: a bit difficult to find

Cheap and delicious - Edit

The food is lovely and I even enjoyed the tempeh (which every other time I have tried it elsewhere I found it inedible so definitely not usually a fan!) Beautiful quiet little garden and very friendly and warm staff. Not sure if it was there before but they have also put a pointer arrow on the main street as well as a sign on the initial gate. From there you just walk towards the left and through concrete door which can be a little dark at night. Highly recommended!

Worth a visit! - Edit

It's easy enough to find if you keep your eyes open for the small signage. Once inside it's a small warung style eaterie, obviously connected to "supreme master Ching Hai", and much like a cafe in someone's garden.

The staff are lovely... friendly and helpful. The menu has a small but good variety of options from more Indonesian style foods to their take on western foods.

I had my young daughter with me and she loved the spaghetti with tomato sauce while I enjoyed the sate, which is a mock meat / soya protein threaded onto bamboo skewers with a delicious sate sauce. I'd go back just for these. Then I had one of the Indonesian style dishes. Great size serves, tasty food, awesome prices... about 35k to 40k Indo rupiah a serve.

Make sure to grab some of the homemade biscuits, found in the jars on the shelves. I took away 2 of each and they were all good, but the green tea cookies were my faves. Only 8000 Indo rupiah each.

If you're vegan and in the Seminyak area be sure to try the delicious food available here, I certainly wasn't disappointed and will certainly be going back before we leave.
