Worth a visit! - Edit
"Taste of India" is located in Flamersheim, a village just a few kilometers from Euskirchen‘s city centre. It is next to Flamersheim‘s pretty market square that has a historic church from 1100AD, a (private) castle and small, picturesque houses.
Read moreThe restaurant itself does not look like much from the outside, but the interior is nicely done and the staff are friendly. They know about veganism, which is a huge plus. There are two pages of vegetarian dishes in the menu, many of which are vegan. Ingredients are marked, but we still asked about milk, just to be sure. The waitress immediately asked if we were vegan, checked back with the kitchen and ensured us that our meals would be completely vegan.
My husband chose the Aloo Matter and I had the Aloo Saag. Both dishes were very tasty. We ordered medium spicy and were a bit disappointed that to us they were not spicy at all, but that is probably due to the fact that the majority of customers of this restaurant will not at all be used to Indian food. When we go again, we will order "real Indian spicy" - but that is personal taste of course.
The food came with rice and there were also three sauces and papadam for starters, two of these sauces were vegan as the waitress pointed out to us.
We enjoyed our visit to "Taste of India" very much. It is great to have this restaurant in the area and it is certainly worth the short detour from Euskirchen. We visit Euskirchen frequently because we have family there, and we already loon forward to our next meal in Flamersheim.
