Store great, cafe not so much

Gluten free…. Says it all I guess. Expected a tasty muffin for $7, but it tasted like coconut flour and stuck to the top of the mouth. Won’t be going again.

Pros: Store good

Great place and great food!
The chef has the ability to add favours from all over the world! A south american touch combined with some mediterranean flavours is what I want especially during winter!

Pros: Heaps of vegan options

Cons: Some items can be pricey..., But health is the new wealth

Pricey

Pretty expensive here so we just got coffee. The coffee wasn’t great as they use Pure Harvest soy milk which is watery in my opinion. There were some vegan items on the menu which looked good, and they have a big store with lots of vegan items. But most of it is that kinda stuff like “healthy” cookies made of seeds bound together with dates with a stupidly high prices for what they are. If I want a cookie I’m not eating seeds and dates 🙃

Disappointingly expensive

This place has grown vastly and changed location since the days I was shopping here regularly. I came back recently to buy a carton of soy milk and I have to say, I flinched slightly when the cashier told me it was $6. Still, there is a huge range of products and the cafe looks interesting.

Lovely Cafe and Organic Store!

The Taste Nature Cafe serves eclectic and yummy vegan and non vegan food, as well as yummy gluten free options. We love this place! I am vegan and my hubby is mostly vegetarian, but he eats vegan when we eat here. Everything from the smoothies to the entrees, to the desserts are freshly made on-site and served with a smile. We always shop at the store afterwards to stock up with organics. They even stock vegan wine! Perfect.

Pros: Lotsa yummy Vegan and Gluten free Options, Friendly Service

Cons: Cafe closes at 2. Shop closes at 6.

Wonderful Cafe and Store...

This is a great little cafe inside a great little store. It's a perfect place for picking up some healthy groceries and a healthy bite to eat. We got take-away, but there's a cozy looking eat-in area to drink tea and read the paper.

My wife got salad and I grabbed two of the tempeh wraps (nut-free vegan) for our flight home to the USA and we are so glad we did. Despite spending hours in a carry-on before consumption, the salads and wraps were incredibly tasty and great supplements/replacements to our airline meals...

Friendly staff and welcoming vibe. I wish every town in the world had a Taste Nature!

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff

Nice store to get stocked up

Popped in here for travel supplies during our road trip on the South Island and found just what we needed:l snacks, organic fruits, local products, artisanal bread, etc. Too bad we already had lunch, otherwise we would've tried out the café as well. Food there looked fresh and good.

Pros: good vegan selection

A delightful place

Taste nature is a great place to come for lunch or for a snack. Their food is delicious and so wholesome. I have a daughter with many food allergies including gluten, egg and dairy. Taste nature is the only place that has food she can eat. They even have chocolate cake and chocolate biscuits that are gluten free and vegan.
The prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly.

Pros: great food, good value, allergy friendly

Cons: prices in shop alittle high, no GF bread in shop

Nice little shop and cafe

Those who are looking for highly processed meat substitutes will not find what they are looking for here. Those who are looking for beautiful, healthy, fresh, vibrant wholefoods and a great selection of raw chocolates, raw crackers, raw biscuits, raw cereals, organic tempeh, tofu and patties will be very happy! This is the place to go in Dunedin for crisp & fresh organic fruit and vegetables, as well as organic dried goods, spices, condiments etc. The prices are better than the Wellington equivalent (Commonsense organics) and the staff are friendly & helpful. They also have lots of seeds and organic gardening books on sale.

I went to the newly opened cafe, which has a lovely atmosphere and great surroundings. I tried the vegan chickpea and tomato soup with bread. The bread was delicious, the soup was hearty and warm but could have used a bit more seasoning & bigger bowls as the serving sizes left me still hungry. I saw that they had a vegan ginger crunch and a selection of salads, I am looking forward to trying these next time I visit. Prices slightly higher than the typical cafe, but everything is organic and made with wholefoods so it is worth paying for.

Pros: vegan options, good selection, nice atmosphere

Cons: small portions, a bit pricy

Not especially vegan friendly

I visited this shop in July 09 hoping to find lots of lovely vegan 'alternatives'. Unfortunately the only 'meat' analogues were dried TVP and frozen tempeh (no vegan sosages or burgers etc). They do stock nuts & seeds and some vegan chocolate & snack bars though. But it's not like a UK whole/health food shop. They sell mostly organic fruit and veg and have a freezer full of organic meat.

Pros: TVP & tempeh stocked, one frozen vegan soup available

Cons: few meat analogues, lots of meat
