A Dining Disaster

What an absolute thrill to have a vegan egg, cheese and bacon option! If not for poor execution and high prices. Egg is the texture of pancake batter, bacon is not remotely close to crisp, AND you have to wipe your own table when done. Yucky. We ordered dine in and were given to go boxes, and they forgot tomato on the sandwich.

Cons: Mushy egg, Soft bacon, Expensive

Vegans can enjoy:)

It’s a really cute place with plenty of space inside and outside. There are quite a few vegan options. I chose oatmeal with walnuts, apples, and cinnamon. It was a very generous portion and tasty too.
This cafe is sure bet for vegans while in Red Hook.

Please mark the drinks!

Placed an order for 2 iced coffees, one vegan, one with sweetener. Both looked and tasted exactly alike and neither had sweetener. Feels like they whiffed this order.
The vegan bar tastes like a scone, cut into rectangles.

Edit: I gave feedback via the online ordering app, the owner got back within minutes thanking me for bringing this to their attention and stating that my concerns were valid and that when I come back in, I'll see the difference.

Great community cafe

A great café near the Bard College campus with a large menu. Vegan items are clearly marked. A new menu board was installed, and In February 2020, symbols were added to the board to indicate vegan and vegetarian items, Do not forget the soups, which have signs of their own. Often or perhaps usually, one or two of them are vegan, though the restaurant sometimes runs out during the day. The Veggie Delight Wrap is a vegan item, and the menu board makes it clear that numerous sides and two oatmeal dishes (including Build Your Own) are vegan. Personnel are attentive and usually very good when it comes to helping customers who mention that they are vegans or who have other health-related concerns. They have even made salads with simple no-oil dressings for me. Seating ranges from some couches to outdoor tables, to a high desk with stools and an outdoor view, to regular tables. Some live music programming, mostly folk and related genres. Recorded music is played at a fairly low volume. Local art and photography is often on display on the walls. Free wi-fi with daily purchase. The café’s reward points program currently does not have any vegan options for rewards, a limitation that the restaurant has told me it would think about and work on. Wait service brings food to your table; you bus your own table.

Pros: relaxed atmosphere for conversation or studying, variety of menu offerings, menu indicates vegan and vegetarian options

Cons: not a vegan or vegetarian place only, not full service for those looking for that, among the many places needing no-added-salt items

Vegan items marked!

This place has these amazing vegan almond chocolate chip cookies. I’m addicted. Their veggie wrap is vegan and pretty scrummy. Not a ton of vegan options, but what they have, they do well. I’ve gotten their oat milk cappuccino and not been a fan, but the Planet Oat milk works in the iced coffee. Really great spot for vegetarians. I don’t know if they still do it, but they used to have a pretty fun ukulele night.

Pros: Fair trade and organic, Friendly staff , Outdoor seating

Cons: Limited vegan options

They have plenty of menu items that can be made vegan with meat substitutes like vegan bacon and vegan cheeses. Awesome coffee and a cozy environment.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Vegan meat and cheese alternatives , Vegan pastries

OK. Decent Option

This vegetarian restaurant was the only place open after 6pm (C'mon Morgan's!) Next time I'm here l will time it so that I eat somewhere else. The staff seemed pretty clueless. I asked what was vegan, and the guy at the counter didnt know what on the menu was vegan. He was very confused. I asked for my meal to be served with vegan mayo (which the website said they kept in stock) but they just omitted.

Pros: Open.

Cons: Clueless staff. Not well marked items. Small porti

Really, this place is not even vegetarian, though I have been a fan of it. (I like cafes in general.)
