A temptation of thalerophagous tastes.

This place brings a little bit of Austin to San Antonio - in the same strip mall as Trader Joe's.

Some of the Best Indian Food Out There

I loveee Indian food but this place has some of the best I’ve ever had. Loved the vegan mango lassi. Wish I lived close by so I could go here all the time!!!🤤

I’m addicted

It’s so hard to choose between the Aloo Gobi, tarka Daal, and the beyond beef plate. The pakoras give you way more as an appetizer than just the two veggie samosas. (Ask for the vegan version chutney).

Can’t go wrong with any of those options.

Pros: More options than usual , All good options

One of my favorite places in the city

Tarka clearly lists all vegan options on their menu. Their food is amazing. You get pretty big portions for the price as well. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. They always have the friendliest staff and are always clean. Food is so flavorful. I’ve had many things, but my favorite entree is the Chana masala. You can choose mild, medium, hot or extra hot on all their main dishes as well. Samosas are a must when eating here as well. Comes with a yogurt sauce but you can ask for the vegan chutney instead.
Pro tip: not listed on the menu, but ask for the pav. It’s a vegan side order of three sweet bread rolls that have been grilled. AMAZING sweet flavor and wonderful to dip into the sauces of your entree rather its masala or curry.

Pros: A lot of food for a cheap price, Amazing flavors, Vegan options clearly listed

Great food on the fly

A new Tarka in San Antonio! I first tried Tarka in Austin. It is good enough food, but for this Brit, I have had much better Indian food. Perfect for a quick bite or meal to go. Not my favourite place to sit and stay, but we have had small groups here before and it turned out well. Plenty of well marked vegan options but a rather sterile environment. Staff is great, super clean and organized.

Great high quality Indian food

This place was a pleasant surprise. Most of the menu items are vegan. They obviously cater to plant based eaters. The basmati rice was maybe the best I ever had. This place will not disappoint and it’s pretty inexpensive.

Pros: Affordable

Cons: Portion sizes
