Great Paella - Edit
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and philosophy of this place. A sweet veggie market in the back, beer and wine up front with many VEGAN options. The Paella was fantastic as was the golden milk tea. I nice stop.

Trendy vegetarian cafe with great food. Chose a watermelon gazpacho and pizza with vegan cheese. It was bloody delicious. Plenty of craft beer and great red wine.

Just off the Old City,on a side street ,rather anonymous, lies this gem of a restaurant: Vegetarian throughout with Vegan options and amazing decor.

--2019 update: this place is even better than I remembered! Great pizzas, fresh lemonades, and a good selection of tapas! The best place in town without a doubt! Most dishes are vegan, the rest vegetarian (and all pizzas can be made vegan)!--
Read moreI spent last week end in Tarifa with my girlfriend and on Saturday we had lunch at the Tarifa EcoCenter.
The place is big and pleasant, the waiters were amazingly friendly and smiley, that's always appreciated.
We had a look at the menu, a lot of choice. In the end we decided for a couple of pizzas, one vegan and one "del bosque" with mushrooms artichokes and mozzarella. They have a wood oven, and the pizza maker was clearly Italian (I'm 99% sure because I'm Italian and because he was making jokes in Italian...), and in fact the pizzas were really really good.
We also got some lemonades, unfortunately not fresh, but they use high quality organic lemonades in cans.
We enjoyed our time there!
PS: contrarily to a previous comment, I think that everything was vegetarian!

Super place located in the centre of tarifa before the turning down to the port. Charming place, with a small shop, lovely outdoor patio with a good choice of tapas both vegan or vegetarian, dog friendly and the most amazing quinoa lemon cake, lovely helpful staff... One of my favourite finds to date.... 10*

Probably the best restaurant with vegan options I've tried in Andalusia. I took as entry the pumpkin in saor (delicious!) and as main dish the raw plate (AMAZING!!!). I finished with a chocolate and banana cake, also delicious.

It had extremely erratic opening hours when I was there so I walked over to it several times before finally making it in. When I did, they were no longer doing food, so it's even harder to work out when it is open for that.
Read moreI then went another time with friends and we had a drink. The food seemed too expensive to be honest, especially for the worst located of the three vegetarian restaurants in Tarifa. The beer was nice, though.
They have live music sometimes, and that's probably when it's at its best.
It's frustrating that it's not vegan in this day and age, as anyone is who can grasp basic concepts.
Pros: Some vegan options some of the time that it's open
Cons: Not all vegan, Expensive, Erratic opening, especially for food

We had a Hortolana pizza with vegan cheese. It was really tasty and the dough was very well done. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend in spite of the price.

Make sure you stress that you want all dishes vegan!

We found this place by chance coming out from the ferry from Tanger. (just up the road from the maritime port). Its a relatively large space with a villa style terrace, with a great relaxed ambiance, good music coming from the adjacent bar and, most importantly, with many vegan options on the menu. The waitress had a really good vibe and explained all the option with a warm smile. We chose 2 vegan pizzas (we were craving for pizza! :), made with whole flour, vegan mozzarella and fresh vegetables that were delicious! For dessert we had a chocolate and orange gateau that was also delicious. All the food was made with organic ingredients making the check a real bargain.

Recently redecorated, the place still has delicious food including pizza with vegan mozzarella, cauliflower migas, roasted pumpkin, all very tasty. Pleasant service and nice seating under the sky. Not expensive but not cheap either. We eat there every time we're in Tarifa.

I have been to the Eco Center several times over the last two years, and I keep coming back. My favorite dish is the pumpkin from the oven! What I think is great is that everything is organic, vegetarian (even mostly vegan) and that there are so many gluten-free options! Actually, I can eat everything on the menu, except the pizzas. A rare luxury :) In addition, the restaurant has a nice energy, and the people who work there are very warm and cordial. They gave me many tips on interesting things happening around town. I highly recommend the place. Oh, and they have yoga, dance classes, interesting workshops and music nights every sunday. Haha needless to say I spent a big part of my time here. What I also love is that for their cheese is from their own goats!
