Best Vegan Mexican in Tacoma!

There is no Mexican I’ve had in the south sound that I like as much as this one, especially since El Boracho closed.

Though there is nothing specifically labeled vegan on the menu, just tell them “vegan, no cheese” etc and they are good to accommodate. I get black beans in my vegetarian burrito minus cheese, which I know are vegan. I think the pinto and refried are also vegan, but I suggest asking. (**I will update this posting as I learn more.)

The prices are inexpensive if you compare to most other restaurants in the area. It’s a busy place, much like Memos but much better, in my opinion. It’s the Baja Fresh model: fast food with seating and a salsa bar that includes marinated veggies, limes, and Pico. Fresh ingredients and the chips are very good, seemingly homemade. (**They may give you some free chips if you don’t order them).

FYI, there are two other locations: one in Kent and the other in Shoreline.

Pros: Fresh, delicious, authentic Mexican food , Inexpensive , Friendly staff

I recently ate here. It was great. My comment is about the beans, I originally ordered refried beans, then asked if they used lard and the person at the register changed my order to pinto, but didn’t confirm or deny use lard. It was pretty busy and pretty loud, so perhaps I didn’t hear them.
