creative and delicious - Edit
We had the mushroom and brussel sprout appetizers with a selection of their beautiful and creative sushi. Everything was outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit. The to go boxes were compostable and minimal packaging.

We have been back many times since this first visit and it is always fantastic. Try the owner’s homemade cheesecake. Delicious!

really, really tasty vegan sushi! - Edit
I ordered a specialty roll which was amazing. It was also pretty expensive. When I saw the more expensive rolls on the menu, I thought twice, but decided to go for it anyway.
Read moreThe food didn't disappoint, but honestly when I opened up the tiny little to-go box, I was pretty shocked. A lot smaller than it looked in the picture... One could probably fit the whole thing in one's mouth.
Cons: very expensive

Wow, wow, wow! - Edit
I had heard about Tane opening in Berkeley for a while and thought I might like to try it. Tane's sister restaurant Shizen in SF has gotten rave reviews for years and I've never been able to get there. Tane blew me away! I went with some friends and it seemed like we ordered everything on the menu. We practically rolled out of there!
Read moreIt's not just sushi, it's small plates and you can get noodles. But definitely try the special rolls, they're off the charts!
The food is beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious! I will go there again and again.

Finally Vegan Sushi in Berkeley - Edit
My wife and I are big fans of an associated Vegan Sushi restaurant in SF however parking is tough and traffic can be a problem so it was wonderful to find a place about the same distance from our home but with much less traffic to deal with and easy parking. Another plus is you can make reservations, as the other place there can be a two hour wait. The sushi is immaculately prepared and delicious with some very creative combinations. The presentation, as you can see from the photos, is amazing! A must destination if you love Sushi! Oh, they roasted Brussels Sprout appetizer is to die for!

Flavourful - Edit
Lots of choices! Also, genius packing for take away- ramen broth separate from noodles which prevented mushy noodles!

If you’ve been to the sister restaurant in San Francisco, Shizen, you’ll love this place! Similar flavors and ambiance with a different menu. Everything was great! Make sure to order the Brussels sprouts! Decent street parking available.

Amazing vegan sushi! - Edit
Really creative vegan sushi. Their ramen is good too. This is a sister restaurant of Shizen in San Francisco, so many of the rolls are the same (just with different names) but there's some different items as well.
