Excellent Alu Gobhi!

The Alu Gobhi has potatoes and cauliflower in a spicy tomato based sauce. It is Vegan and delicious. I’ve had this dish at Indigo in Rehoboth Beach prior and really enjoyed it there too! The dish had the right amount of spice. The Naan bread isn’t vegan. I wish they would make a vegan Naan bread!! The waiter was attentive and kind.

“No dairy” means no butter!

After going through the “no dairy, no meat” song and dance we decided on vegetable samosa, vegetable rice and garlic bread. Many other dishes had yogurt or cream. Bread looked oily but really how many times can you stress “NO DAIRY”? Found out afterwards it had butter. UGH! Left and threw up 4 times.

Pros: Decorative

Cons: Very limited options

Great food

There were about 4 curry options, as well as 2 typesof bread and a soup. We tried the Alo Gobhy and Chana masala as well as the lemon-coriander soup and vegan breads. All very really delicious!

Wish I could give 5 stars

For those not familiar with HappyCow’s rating policy, establishments that serve animal flesh can receive a max of 4 stars. It’s an awesome policy, in my opinion, but I just wanted to note here because if I could give five stars I would.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever tried. People on Google leave mixed reviews, but the negative ones are generally related to customer service (which I think is all overstated — it does take a while to be served etc but well worth the wait).

Personally I thought service was great. When I asked if the daal makhni could be made vegan the waiter said “absolutely,” without hesitation. I think that’s a good sign because it demonstrates a certain level of freshness — also very accommodating for vegan diners.

The food was seriously top notch. Got the daal makhni and roti. And the ambience is lovely, since I love trains and history. I’ll definitely go out of my way to come back.

Pros: Amazing food, Good flexibility with making dishes vegan

Cons: Items not specifically marked vegan, but just ask

Amazing Indian

A friendly quirky Indian restaurant in a ski area with few vegan options. We loved the train carriage dining car and laid back vibe of this restaurant. Loads of vegan options.

Pros: Many vegan options and vegan knowledgeable staff, Friendly

Great restaurant, very friendly service and kind of a cool lay out with a train carriage and a more traditional family room.

Staff happy to talk through all the vegan options and very helpful.

Pros: Very helpful staff, Quirky train carriage restaurant

Cons: Very popular - so food not fast, but wine good

Vegan Options Hard To Find In The Area

Had dinner last night and we had a great experience. Food was delicious, service was great, friendly and attentive and food came out quick. Thank you for having vegan options! Hard to find in the area. I had the channa masala with white rice.

Pros: Vegan Options, Attentive Friendly Service , Delicious Food

Cons: Vegan Options Not Labeled On The Menu , No Vegan Appetizer
