One of my favourites this trip! - Edit
We went to a cozy and a delicious vegan restaurant here in Naha, Okinawa. The food was presented beautifully on unique Okinawa plates, and the flavour on each dish was delicious. We had 2 starters, the Agé Tofu and Mozuku and Sea Grapes. Both are very traditional dishes from Okinawa. For mains we had the Laksa and Okinawa Soba, I loved every bite. The dessert was also very interesting, we had the Okinawa Brown Sugar. It was sweet but very tasty and just enough with a side of coffee.

Great laksa curry at a cozy space - Edit
We tried dumplings, Ryukyu laksa curry and today’s special menu items (fried taro and vegetable fritters) as well as lu rou fan. They were delicious. We also enjoyed talking with the friendly owner. Nice space and vibe.

Great Laksa - Edit
The Laksa was soo good! The coriander in it wasn't too strong which i really liked!
Read moreThe soupless noodles were okay but not outstanding.
Unfortunately we got gyoza instead of dumplings. But it was okay, we didn't want them to throw it away, so didn't say anything and ate it. The taste was okay, the sauce wasn't strong.
Overall the portions were too small (my opinion).
Atmosphere was nice, strong smell of incense sticks. Staff was friendly and understands english.
Accepts credit cards.
Pros: Laksa , Accepts Creditcards, Friendly staff
Cons: Small portions

Food artistry at its finest - Edit
This was our first restaurant in Japan and wow it was like an art watching them prepare food. There are only two people. They take their time into crafting each dish. Make sure to leave time to experience this restaurant and be in no rush. It’s island time

Soul-filling - Edit
The moment I put a spoonful of their laksa broth, I attained enlightenment. The soup is so creamy and flavourful, I just have no words to describe. The dumplings were yumm with the coconut oil flavour really elevating it.

Nice Laksa - Edit
My friend and I had an intense laksa craving and came here - it definitely hit the spot! The laksa had a Japanese twist to it (maybe some miso in the broth too) but it was delicious. We also had the dumplings (reminded us of a momo) and the mozuku which was super amazing too!

Best vegan Japanese restaurant in Naha - Edit
So far, I found Tamatebako to offer the best Japanese vegan food in Naha. The crispy agedōfu was just delicious. I also had six dumplings and the coconut ice cream (all vegan). I was very very satisfied of my meal and overall experience: I sat at the counter and could see that the chef was preparing each dish with the utmost care.

Edit: I went back with a friend and enjoyed even more. We shared dumplings and had the signature dish (laksa noodles). Definitely recommended.

One of the few places in Okinawa where you may enjoy local specialties as a vegetarian/vegan. This lovely place is tucked away in an alley and serves amazing food at regular prices. The owner speaks English.

Best meal in Japan - Edit
I really really enjoyed everything that I ate here. The vegan tiramisu cake was so good, it strays away from authenticity by being denser rather than spongy but it was so so good.

A little sanctuary in the city - Edit
With not many options around sand frustration at the amount of animal products in all the treats that n the area, it was so nice to sit at this all plant-based little restaurant. It was cozy from the start, our server was nice, and the food was delicious. It was nice to have something other than curry in the area. We order three specials from the board over the bar, not the menu, and sake, then added the dessert set at the end. The fried noodles were the best, but tempura seaweed was great and the stir fry was great as well. The dessert was small, but delicious.

Nice little place with 100% plant based local produced ingredients. The chef invented his own fusion recipe from his extensive travels in Malaysia, Taiwan and more. Coconut laksa was really good.

The only thing that was unfortunate was for an izakaya, they had a limited amount of drinks especially if you would prefer sweeter drinks. The gyoza was delicious.

Wonderful small vegan restaurant! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also speak English fluently. Food was delicious and prepared with style. Big advantage is that they work until late so can be easily visited. Will definitely visit them one more time to taste the other part of the menu. Wish them full success in promoting the nice and healthy vegan food!
