Loved the Vegan Tamales - Edit
Stopped in for the vegan tamales & they didn't disappoint. Had the vegan meal that included 2 tamales, rice & beans. Tamales are a generous size. Took home a dozen fozen and family loved them. Also purchased a couple of frozen dessert tamales...pineapple and strawberry. Haven't tried them just yet. Will try to update once I do. I'll be back to restock the freezer 😉
Read moreHaven't tried the burrito, but would be more inviting if they added veggies included in the filling of the tamale. Menu indicates burrito is just beans, rice, lettuce, & pico.

Love this plade and make sure to stop in any time I'm in Holland. I usually get the vegan tamales (which as far as I know are the only place in west Michigan that has them), but I've also gotten the burrito. The tamales flavor is perfect and they really nailed the texture. The burrito is HUGE.

Best Vegan Spot in Holland - Edit
This place is a wonderful hidden gem that I've been to multiple times now. They have a small dedicated vegan menu with a handful of options ranging from rice bowls to burritos to tostadas to tamales. Everything on the menu is great, but the tamales really take the cake! If anything make sure to try those, their rice is also some of the best rice I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Be warned though, the tamales are made on the spot in an instant pot so they always come out BLAZING hot so make sure to give them some time to cool off.

The vegan tamales are really good here. They have a mix of a couple of different vegetables like squash, carrots, and potatoes. The black beans and rice are also vegan and have a lot of flavors. Was a huge fan.

Owner told me he didn't have vegan options at first, but when people kept asking he sat down to think of one. It's clear he put some real thought and care into it. Vegan tamales have potato, zuchini, corn, peas and more. Nice thick cornmeal holds everything together. Hearty and filling. My two year old says "yuuuuuuummmyyy!" You know you've got a hit when you put that many vegetables in something and it pleases a little one's pallette. He also loved the mango agua fresca. Beans and rice were vegan too and well made. I always appreciate black refried beans over pinto. I also have to mention how clean and well kept this place is, which will put you at ease in the pandemic age. Check them out! (They have vegan dessert tamales too...)

An absolutely amazing dinner of 2 Vegan tamales with zucchini, squash, potatoes, beets, special sauce, along with vegan beans and rice on the side. Other vegan options are tacos, burritos, a bowl, and chips and salsa.

Authentic Vegan Friendly - Edit
Im reviewing Tamales Plus as the daughter of Mexican immigrants first, and as a vegan second. From the moment We walked in, I felt like I was in a taqueria in South Texas. The “hot” salsa was actually really spicy, not the bland version a lot of Midwest restaurants have. I had the #2 Tamales special. The tamales, rice, and beans were all well cooked, tasty, and not greasy. They have a section of other vegan options too.

Vegan tamales!!! - Edit
I saw someone share this place on Facebook and gave it a try. The vegan tamales are beyond great so we’re the refried beans. Not a fan of white rice but their Mexican rice was loaded with mixed veggies. I’ll definitely pick up from here again!
