J’y suis allée deux fois, avec plusieurs personnes différentes et franchement c’est un pur bonheur, le pho est goûtu, le bun cha très bon, et les nem/ bánh cuon et autres petits plats sont à commander les yeux fermés !

After spending 4 days in Hanoi and sampling numerous restaurants rated well on HappyCow, I can say that Tam Khoi was the best and most authentic meal I had. Everything was simple and unpretentious while also flavorful and delicious. Really loved the different types of pho and rolls. DON’T SKIP THIS PLACE!

This place was incredible!! The woman running it was lovely. We had noodles and rice paper rolls and they were so fresh and yum and filling. The service was very fast and the shop was full of locals which is always a good sign 😊 highly recommend to all vegans visiting Hanoi!!

Food is cheap as can be, there’s barely any seating and it’s all rickety tables and plastic stools 10cm off the ground, everyone is rushing, the food is constantly being prepared en masse, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! This is definitely a real local joint and was accordingly packed for lunch time when I visited. If you want AC or fans or any semblance of comfort or luxury this isn’t for you, but if you want to eat somewhere that feels real, this is your spot.
Read morePortion size was excellent for 25k, nice mix of soya meat chunks and tofu and veggies with some chewy brown rice noodles, chili oil on the table that’s as spicy as it looks. Food could’ve maybe used a little bit more salt, but I enjoyed my noodles nonetheless and really liked the overall experience for what it is.
Recommended, and a must visit if you’re already in the old quarter area which is otherwise very overpriced and tourist-targeted.

Located on one of the larger streets of hanoi old town. If you sit outside you may experience locals driving up right to your feet to grab some take away - which is a good sign, as this is a place where backpackers and hanoi inhabitants meet. The menu is small but offers a few selected vietnamese meals, mostly different kinds of (noodle) soup and rice noodle dishes. We had bun cha with soy kebap and a rice noodle soup with Tomato base as well as summer rolls. All were served with a variety of tofu, soy meats, fresh herbs and vegetables. Incredibly low priced, served up quickly though being freshly prepared and tasty with distinct flavours we did not recognize from most Vietnamese Restaurants in Europe. I agree that it is a must-visit when staying in hanoi.

I’ve been there multiple times and everything I’ve tried was sooo delicious, some of it might not always look glamorous but the taste… amazing. And all that for 25k per meal (fresh spring rolls 7k). But it is a very fast restaurant be aware of that !
