Delicious and plenty of vegan options - Edit
Like most Thai places you can easily make anything vegan. I especially love their masaman curry and yellow curry. It’s delicious

Tasty and spicy - Edit
Had a nice stir fry with veggies and tofu plus a green curry. Both made vegan and friendly staff made sure there was no meat. Spice level was hot! And we only ordered a 2.

Direct slap in the face to a long-term repeat customer - Edit
Over the past number of years, I've eaten at Talay Thai probably 30 times between their Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert locations. I have introduced many friends to their restaurant. I have ordered through GrubHub dozens of times. Tonight, I mistakenly forgot to ask them to keep egg out of my fried rice. When I told them I made a mistake, cannot eat egg, and asked if they could remake my dish, after checking with the kitchen, the restaurant flatly refused. No offer to remake a dish at a discounted price, no negotiations, just a flat no and double the cost ($40) if I wanted to eat fried rice with no meat and vegetables. This was such a short-sided decision. They have forever lost a repeat customer who has spent a thousand or more dollars at the establishment. At the same time, they have gained an eager spokesperson who will eagerly tell everyone exactly how they treat their long-term repeat customers. RIP Talay Thai!!

Delicious Thai vegan options - Edit
We have visited their location at Rancho Mirage 2-3 times but then they closed down.
Read moreHowever, they reopened at Palm Desert recently, on Feb 3, 2025.
They serve vegan options and wr have to tell the wait staff for no fish sauce, no oyster sauce, make it vegan. They understand. If ordering with tofu they will ask if tofu to be fried or fresh.
We ordered Pad Prig Khing and Green Curry. They portions are large. For 2 people we barely able to finish. But we ordered 2 brown rice too. They are taste is pretty authentic. We love to come back with a group so we can try othet things.
The price is high but I think it is due to location and high rent. Their new location is pretty strategic with a lot of visibility. Thus, I hope they will survive.
Pros: Taste authentic , Large portions , Visible
Cons: Pricey, Far from home

Very good soup and curry - Edit
The Tom kha soup was very good and so was the yellow curry. They had a good selection of drinks but the Thai ice teas are made with dairy creamer :(. The pad thai was way too sweet for my liking but the fried rices made up for it.

Cons: Pricey, Server was quick with us, Fairly loud
