All vegan options sold out - Edit
Although the restaurant closes at 1630, all vegan options were said to be sold out at 1400. Not sure if they were sold out or actually not available.

Less vegan options off-season - Edit
This place is near the ropeway station. There are two soba restaurants near each other, so you want to go to "Sumika". The vegan menu sign is not there at the moment, but there are still vegan options you can order at the vending machine (under "vegan") - around 4-5 noodle dishes (no sides) from around 800 yen.
Read moreVery basic soba dishes, but that is ok for your mountain hike.
Staff was very attentive about "vegan" as I had ordered a non-vegan side dish and was quickly refunded.

Nice - Edit
What a pleasant surprise to find vegan options at a place like this. I had one of the hot soups, which was pretty good.
Read morePricing (1100 ¥) is ok, considering you’re at somewhat of a tourist spot.

Wonderful - Edit
So thankful to have this place as an option while hiking. Wish more soba restaurants did this!
Read moreNote: When I visited Takao-san in early January there were no vegan options available, I asked and they said it was because of the New Year’s holidays. When I came back in March the vegan menu was back as usual.
Pros: Good noodle texture and broth , Plenty of choices , Not that expensive (for mountain prices)
Cons: Vegan items sometimes unavailable

Convenient Option - Edit
Ordered from an ATM like machine which had multiple language options and a vegan section. Had the Kake-Soba hot dish and found it to be very bland even with added chilli powder available on the table; however, appreciated having a hot vegan option while it snowed.

Many options yet pricy - Edit
The restaurant is lactated near the cable car station in Takao-san. I really appreciate the fact that they offer vegan food in the mountain.
Read moreThere were four types of vegan soba and you could choose between cold and warm (4 x 2 = 8 options).
Totoro soba was 1200 yen and Sansai soba was 1000 yen. I found it very pricy for a bowl of soba.
The taste was fair. Nothing special.
Would I go there again? Probably! Because they are the only option for proper meal in the mountain (as far as I know).
Pros: Vegan soba in Takao-san, 8 options
Cons: Expensive

So many different kinds of vegan soba! - Edit
It is so wonderful to go hiking at Takao-san and see one side of the soba restaurant menu be fully vegan! We ordered the vegan bukkake tororo soba (cold), vegan sansai soba (cold), and vegan sansai soba (hot). It was really delicious and made us finally feel like we were having the typical Japanese meal and a hike experience. If only all other hiking locations provided vegan options!

Tons of clearly labeled tasty options! - Edit
After a long hike, come here to enjoy hot or cold soba! Lots of interesting choices, but all soba ramen. Huge portions! I couldn’t finish my wild veggie ramen even though it was delicious.

Enjoyable noodle soup and pretty generous portions - Edit
This soba shop has a lot of vegan options. Normally it’s difficult to find vegan soba because most broth has fish dashi in it. Would definitely go again!

really nice place - Edit
When going hiking on Takaosan, it's really close to the top of the cable cars and seated lift. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when I went there and came across this restaurant indicating that they have a vegan menu.
Read moreAs the weather was hot I ordered a cold noodle dish which I found really good. It was very simple and seemed rather traditional to me. If you're into very elaborated dish with tons of veggies, that's not it, but in my opinion it was really tasty.
The price is not too expensive as well.
Pros: clearly labeled vegan options, cold as well as hot dishes for all kind of weathe, good location
