My husband and I came back to eat here a second time during our stay in Playa, because the food was so delicious and authentic, which had not been our experience unfortunately with most of the vegan restaurants we had been to in Mexico up until that point. Everything was super flavorful and super reasonably priced, and the staff was so SO helpful and attentive, even when it was busier. our favorites were the quesatacos, the portabella mushroom 'meat' and the soy-based 'meats'. we got to try the barbeque ribs with roasted corn and mashed potatoes our second time eating there and that was also absolutely delicious. their desserts, kombucha, and flavored water were also spectacular. I hope we can get back to Playa or Cancun soon so we can go eat there again, until then I'll be dreaming of the delicious food we ate here!

Our family of four really enjoyed our visit! The tacos were very good. Our waitress explained how it all worked and everything on the menu. We shortened our stay in pdc, or we would have visited again. The marinated “steak” filling was our favorite. The highlight for me was the passion fruit tart, which is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Seriously, it is amazing. Prices are good. Visit this place, it’s an oasis of pdc.

These tacos are very good, they have many options and you will want to try them all. I recommend you visit this place! You need to stand up to get salsas, would like to have them available on the table. Other than that, the place is great! Creative tacos!

This place was right by our Airbnb so my partner and I went there our first night in Playa after a long red eye flight. The tacos are delish (my partner is omni and this passed the meat eater test) and the owner (?) was so so kind to us and even took the time to walk us through how the menu worked and her personal faves. Lots of different taco, sope, and volcan options options: soy based, wheat based, or vegetable based, and all versions of traditional Mexican fillings, and all of the usual delicious homemade salsas and toppings. And the dessert we had, this passion fruit cheese mini pie thing was AMAZING. Wow. Not only are the staff really friendly but the food is super affordable, tasty, beautiful and fresh. Some of the best tacos I've ever had! There is a tonne of variety and customisation available, burritos, nachos, cheese (if wanted) and a variety of kombuchas and chocolate brownies. English speaking too if you don't speak Spanish. Definitely coming back!!😄

We had just gotten to Playa Del Carmen and were starving. The staff seemed thrilled to see us which is an awesome reception when you’re tired and hungry lol. They even gave us samples of literally everything. When we ordered and they brought it to our table, they explained what each one was. There was a self-serve selection of sauces, onions, and cilantro. I thought this was extra nice because I can’t eat cilantro (terrible, I know) but my boyfriend can’t get enough of it, so I appreciated having it on the side to accommodate us both. Overall it was an awesome experience. Ta’ consciente is one of those places that you want to go back not just the food is good but because they’re good people. Highly recommend!

A hidden little gem. The tacos are amazing and the staff fantastic, we was greeted by a lovey lady who sat us down for some samples before we decided what to order which was a lovely touch. After two plates of tasters we then ordered a range of tacos that come in different forms and all of them were truly amazing. Not only is the food freshly made to how you want it but the service to go with it is too notch. We was welcomed and well looked after, such friendly people. Many thanks

Found this absolute gem on my recent trip to to Mexico and had one of my favourite vegan meals ever. As my other half is not vegan and we was unsure about what to order, the waitress made two tasting plates of all the taco toppings for us to try before we ordered.

It was so reasonably priced so if your on a traveling budget this is defiantly a place you need to stop in.

Read moreThere are loads of different fillings and toppings to try, and the wonderful Jackie gave us a taster and explanation of each one. Half are soy based, half are vegetable. You choose a base (4 options), a filling and optional toppings such as onion, cheese or tofu cream. Once they are freshly made to order you can add numerous salsas, onions, cilantro and lime.
The food was delicious, the prices are great. We drank fresh coconut which was so refreshing and you get to eat the inside after one of the staff skilfully splits it open with a huge machete! They have great music, nice vibes and lovely desserts too.
Jackie is so amazing, such a friendly, happy and helpful person - she really made the whole experiment such a pleasure.
Definitely recommend this place if you’re in Playa, its a must try for authentic Mexican tacos done cruelty free.

You must eat here. It’s traditional Mexican tacos veganized — and everything is so good! I brought a friend from Argentina who is not vegetarian and we got one of everything and we both loved every single thing!

I’ve eaten at every veg place in Playa a bunch of times and I think this is the most must-go.

Amazing vegan tacos, many different options, from veggies like shredded carrot in tomato sauce, and several variations of mushrooms. Many vegan meats as well made of soy or wheat. Salsa bar with toppings. 4 different gluten free taco shells/sopes. Also very delicious drinks and a GF torte with fruit. Service was excellent, all of the options were clearly stated in english - they even let me have a sample of all the different flavor options. Highly recommend for vegans

Everyone is so nice here and the food is super delicious! I got the large nachos and they were fantastic – but too much food for one person. For dessert, get the vegan brownie with vanilla ice cream and you will be in paradise! Pura Vida!
