Awesome Weeknight Eats - Edit

Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays this popup hits the mark for delicious, quick and reasonable vegan mexican food on the Eastside. Limited but delicious menu, on my first visit I had the jackfruit nachos, taco amafauna and a ginger-aid - $14 and my belly was happy. Everything was fresh and the owner was very friendly. Looking forward to visiting again and will keep my ears open for a permanent location.

Pros: quality, friendly, good value

Cons: outside seating only

Vegan Mexican Pop-up - Edit

We visited on a Friday, as Taco Tuyo took over the Goodland Kitchen in old Goleta. Their menu was printed on a banner, hanging over the Goodland board. Jackfruit Nachos were the special, so we ordered that, and the three tacos:
Taco Amafauna – $3.30 Corn Tortilla, Textured Vegetable Protein, homemade mole sauce, veggies.

Taco Cuete – $3.30 Garbanzo Flour Tortilla, tofu marinated in pibil sauce, veggies.

Taco Normal – $3.30 Corn Tortilla, mushroom with spices, veggies.

Beverages were "aqua fresca" juices, one lime flavored, and one "jamaica", or hibiscus. Both were only mildly sweet.
Food took awhile to arrive (seemed to be only two guys running, one at grill and one at the counter, serving 8-10 tables). But it was fresh, tasty, original. The mole sauce was particularly good. We overdid it with the nachos, would probably stick to tacos next time, perhaps trying their guac instead.

Pros: All vegan, Fresh Mexican flavors, inexpensive

Cons: pop-up hours vary, long wait for food
