nope

the hostess was super nice and great at her job. she walked us over to the take out window to take our order. considering I'm from California, and of Mexican descent, I got an immediate inclination of a "ulikely gentrified style Mexican" type establishment. assumptions were correct

the taco was the "vegan chorizo & potato" which was about a 5 out of 10. the California Cobb salad was some iceberg lettuce, a heap of diced tomatoes, and the requested slices of avocado. nothing else. felt sparce and inadequate for $14.

not at all into this place or it's food. the staff is great tho.

Pros: staff was very friendly, food was speedy

Cons: portions did not match the cost, food was just okay, some confusion about vegan when ordering

So much variety and flavor!

Brought a large group here including omnis, children and vegans. Something for everyone, multiple clearly labeled vegan options like the spicy jerk tacos made with plantains and mango salsa, and many taco options that can be easily adjusted to make vegan.

Would Definitely Go Back

I had Vegan Enchiladas (which were clearly labeled), and they were so good! I enjoyed the atmosphere. As someone who resides in Texas, it's hard to find good Mexican food while traveling, but this is definitely a great place!

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options

Tasty

I got the Freakin Vegan taco with a side of plantains. The tacos were surprisingly good for being vegan, as i'm vegetarian. The plantains were alright. Being puerto rican we eat them by frying them, flattening them and then sprinkling salt, these ones were thick and with no salt. They have a separate menu for the vegan options.

Pros: Vegan & vegetarian options , Affordable

Cons: Plastic takeaway containers

Good tacos

Nice atmosphere. The Vegan Tortilla Soup was spicier than I expected. The salsa was good. The Freakin Vegan Taco has fried plantains, mango cubes, cabbage, and pinto beans. It was delicious. The waiter was friendly and service was fast.

Average tacos

I ordered the freakin vegan taco and a side of bean and corn salad as well as the black Cadillac drink. The taco had flavor but they gave me some hard grains of rice that kept getting stuck in between my teeth. I asked for extra cilantro for my salad because it needed a bit more flavor. The drink was on point, though.
Don’t knock it till you try it. It could’ve just been an off day. They have a separate vegan menu you can ask for for more options.

Ummm no go

So... they do indeed have a vegan menu and they do offer gluten free chips (not made fresh on the premises) however... they cook their chips in the SAME oil as meat and dairy products. I just couldn’t do it. There are so many positive reviews for vegans but how can you eat chips cooked in greasy meaty oil? So, no... I do not recommend this place. The vegan menu states this at the top to forewarn people. Unless you like to eat Mexican food sans the chips, but to me, chips and salsa with my margarita is a must.

Vegan Menu Options

We called ahead and ended up waiting 30 mins instead of 45. We enjoyed the fun and casual atmosphere. There is a vegan menu with many unique and tasty choices. We had a couple of their soft shelled tacos. One had plantains and mangos in it. And my daughter and I shared the vegan tortilla soup. The soup was $8 and we expected a large bowl. Although it was quite tasty with fresh ingredients, it was very small and definitely not a dinner for even one person. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant in the Northshore area of the city which is right across the river from downtown. The service was excellent in spite of a full restaurant.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Helpful friendly staff , Tasty and Fresh

Cons: A wait to get in , Small serving sizes

Phenomenally unexpected

I’m in town for work and didn’t expect to find many vegan options “in the south” (I live in Los Angeles currently). But I agreed to go here with coworkers because who can say no to chips and guac? TM has an entire vegan menu (~15 items). I’d try to “Freakin Vegan” or “Vegan Jerk” tacos. They were incredible! (Prefer the Freakin Vegan over the Jerk but that’s probably just because I wasn’t prepared for spicy food. I’ll definitely be back!

Pros: An entire Vegan menu, Ample parking, Friendly staff

Cons: Items might be fried w/ same oil as meat/ dairy, But they tell you that on the menu so not a shock

Separate vegan menu

So I've been here twice now and the food has been great both times! They have a separate vegan menu which is always nice. I got the vegan enchiladas and my husband got the tortilla soup. We both really loved our food and the craft cocktails. Highly recommend.

Pros: Separate vegan menu

Cons: Very busy

2 tacos and a side $9.99

Taco Mama is one of those Chatt experiences that you want to take in. I love the vegan black bean tacos and the sweet potato fries, and it tends to fill me up. It’s a perfect portion for a reasonable price, so I always include Taco Mama in my Chatt food tour with friends and family.

Pros: Distinct vegan menu, Reasonable price, Fun atmosphere

An option for everyone!

This place fed my family with two vegans, one vegetarian, and one carnivore. My vegan stepdaughter and I loved the taco and sides options. They gave us a vegan menu without us even asking! Be sure to get a delicious sorbet for dessert at Milk and Honey next door.

Pros: Designated vegan menu, Feeds a variety of palates, Reasonable price and great service

Cons: Chips cost extra

Great vegan options in Chattanooga

All vegan restaurants were closed and wanted a Sunday night dinner. Found this place on Happy Cow as having a vegan menu and must say they did a great job. I had a Black bean patty taco with plantains and it was great.

Pros: Vegan menu, Friendly service , Great atmosphere

Cons: Portions are not huge(could be a good thing).

You guys they have a separate Vegan menu.

They have an entire vegan menu and it’s all fantastic. We came back two nights in a row. I had the enchiladas, jerk taco, avocado taco, and plantain taco. My mouth is on fire but I’m so happy.

We had to wait a very long time to be seated, I recommend a reservation. This place was lit!

Pros: full vegan menu

Cons: make a reservation!
