Would Definitely Go Back - Edit
I had Vegan Enchiladas (which were clearly labeled), and they were so good! I enjoyed the atmosphere. As someone who resides in Texas, it's hard to find good Mexican food while traveling, but this is definitely a great place!

Tasty - Edit
I got the Freakin Vegan taco with a side of plantains. The tacos were surprisingly good for being vegan, as i'm vegetarian. The plantains were alright. Being puerto rican we eat them by frying them, flattening them and then sprinkling salt, these ones were thick and with no salt. They have a separate menu for the vegan options.

Good tacos - Edit
Nice atmosphere. The Vegan Tortilla Soup was spicier than I expected. The salsa was good. The Freakin Vegan Taco has fried plantains, mango cubes, cabbage, and pinto beans. It was delicious. The waiter was friendly and service was fast.

Average tacos - Edit
I ordered the freakin vegan taco and a side of bean and corn salad as well as the black Cadillac drink. The taco had flavor but they gave me some hard grains of rice that kept getting stuck in between my teeth. I asked for extra cilantro for my salad because it needed a bit more flavor. The drink was on point, though.

Ummm no go - Edit
So... they do indeed have a vegan menu and they do offer gluten free chips (not made fresh on the premises) however... they cook their chips in the SAME oil as meat and dairy products. I just couldn’t do it. There are so many positive reviews for vegans but how can you eat chips cooked in greasy meaty oil? So, no... I do not recommend this place. The vegan menu states this at the top to forewarn people. Unless you like to eat Mexican food sans the chips, but to me, chips and salsa with my margarita is a must.

Vegan Menu Options - Edit
We called ahead and ended up waiting 30 mins instead of 45. We enjoyed the fun and casual atmosphere. There is a vegan menu with many unique and tasty choices. We had a couple of their soft shelled tacos. One had plantains and mangos in it. And my daughter and I shared the vegan tortilla soup. The soup was $8 and we expected a large bowl. Although it was quite tasty with fresh ingredients, it was very small and definitely not a dinner for even one person. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant in the Northshore area of the city which is right across the river from downtown. The service was excellent in spite of a full restaurant.

Phenomenally unexpected - Edit
I’m in town for work and didn’t expect to find many vegan options “in the south” (I live in Los Angeles currently). But I agreed to go here with coworkers because who can say no to chips and guac? TM has an entire vegan menu (~15 items). I’d try to “Freakin Vegan” or “Vegan Jerk” tacos. They were incredible! (Prefer the Freakin Vegan over the Jerk but that’s probably just because I wasn’t prepared for spicy food. I’ll definitely be back!

So I've been here twice now and the food has been great both times! They have a separate vegan menu which is always nice. I got the vegan enchiladas and my husband got the tortilla soup. We both really loved our food and the craft cocktails. Highly recommend.

Taco Mama is one of those Chatt experiences that you want to take in. I love the vegan black bean tacos and the sweet potato fries, and it tends to fill me up. It’s a perfect portion for a reasonable price, so I always include Taco Mama in my Chatt food tour with friends and family.

This place fed my family with two vegans, one vegetarian, and one carnivore. My vegan stepdaughter and I loved the taco and sides options. They gave us a vegan menu without us even asking! Be sure to get a delicious sorbet for dessert at Milk and Honey next door.

All vegan restaurants were closed and wanted a Sunday night dinner. Found this place on Happy Cow as having a vegan menu and must say they did a great job. I had a Black bean patty taco with plantains and it was great.

Fabulous Food - Edit
I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if allowed because the vegetarian options were amazing. My husband ordered the vegeladas (vegetarian enchiladas), which were terrific. They came served with cheese and a cream sauce, but if you avoid dairy they would still be excellent with just the green sauce that topped them. I had the black bean and Jamaican Jerk tacos, which were fantastic. The Jamaican Jerk taco was almost a dessert taco with the plantains and mango salsa. It was a little sweet for me but was a lovely combination of flavors. We also enjoyed the spicy jalapeño cornslaw.

Love it here. Consistently delicious and their vegan taco offerings go well above and beyond the "beans, guac and lettuce" default. Bonus: A separate vegan menu that makes ordering simple - thanks, folks!
