Lovely food!

There’s a vegan/vegetarian section on the menu, but some dishes outside of that section are also vegan-friendly. Simply ask the staff members - they’re very helpful in making sure you get vegan food. The food itself is delicious, portions are generous, and the price is reasonable as well!

Food sauces, great curry

Loved the tempeh and their veggies curry as well as the vegetable cap cay. Fresh juices and spiciness to taste (recommend asking low spice if only used to western standards). Interesting dessert with sticky rice, coconut and palm sugar syrup.

Good option for staying and eating

Tabo Cottages is a nice place to stay in Lake Toba. They have a lot of options on the menu and staff understand what vegan means. They were able to tell me what bread I could eat from the bakery.
The breakfast buffet is quite impressive even for a vegan. They have a separate vegetarian corner with sautéed veggies, roasted potatoes, coconut cake, etc. i also loved having avocado toast or toast with PB and jam. They do not have non-dairy milk unfortunately.
One of the days for breakfast they had a lot of Indonesian desserts which are vegan friendly.
They also have a full page of vegan/vegetarian food in the regular lunch/dinner menu. I tried the curry which was good and the eggplant sambal. The Sambal was provided on the side i think because they worried it would be too spicy for me but actually it was not spicy and I used all of it!
