Love this place...usually. - Edit

I've made many a visit to both of Swing's current downtown locations, and most of them have been astounding. The music...swingy, the tables clean, the service quick, the staff nice, the plastics biodegradable, the ethical values stellar and the food tasty, if not a wee bit messy (but that's mostly to be expected with massive burgers and bulging wraps, though I wish they'd cut the latter in two). If I was allowed to change anything, I'd add both 'vollkorn' and gluten-free bread options, a low-carb lettuce 'bun', sweet potato pommes and perhaps a plainer, tidier burger to the menu.

It's a great concept, and I was absoloutely engulfed in schadenfreude when I noticed that their fourth location is taking over a McDonald's; this place isn't just attracting full-on vegans, and my dear non-veggie friend (who often seems to want to eat here more often than I do) is most certainly a testament to that. I hope they and their peers grow until each and every last relic of the Golden Arches is eradicated from Vienna, Austria, Europe and, hopefully, the planet.

In all of my visits, the food has been expectedly well-prepared too - except for this last instance. After waiting for a rather inordinate amount of time for my seemingly-simple, 'zum Mitnehmen' (take-away) order of gluten-free nuggets and a garden salad and walking to a nearby park because the restaurant (and inexplicably/seemingly all of Vienna, for that matter) was packed, I realised that my nuggets were still very much frozen inside. Obviously I went back and asked for a new batch, which they promptly provided, but not without a strange, dubious look as well.

Thinking all had been sorted, I returned to the park and proceeded to eat my salad whilst the new, piping-hot nuggets cooled down...until it transpired that they'd forgotten to include a fork. -.-

We all have those days!

Pros: All-vegan, all the time!, Oily comfort of conventional fast food, sans guilt, Environmentally conscious in all regards

Cons: Messy food - trying to eat daintily is futile, A wee bit pricey, Not many GF options (just nuggets & salad)

The best burgers in the world - Edit

I've been to many many vegan burger places and had heaps of substitute meals but this place has topped them all. The Vienna burger (Schnitzel) was the best damn schnitzel I've ever tasted, I sat there for a while wondering if I had made a mistake and it wasn't all vegan but no its just that damn good! Will definitely have to try and get back again! Really decent pricing too! Only 18 euro for two meals!

Pros: cheap, great quality , friendly staff

Simple and delicious - Edit

I always go to Swing Kitchen when I am in Vienna.

I just like the fast service, delicious burgers and french fries (with various dips!). I am also very happy that they have a squeezed orange juice, to add a bit of my C vitamin intake in this cold Austrian winter.

The employees are polite, the music puts you in a cozy mood, and when you are done eating your burger, you can always switch to some deserts ;)

Pros: Delicious food, Nice staff, Reasonable price

Very good food, very helpful service - Edit

Visited last month - very good burger, fries and coleslaw. Credit for tiramisu - never had it before but this one was insanely good.
Service was very nice - we got menu in English, food was delivered quickly and was warm, filling and tasty. reasonable pricing as well.

Pros: Tasty food, Quick service, Very warm service

Great deserts! - Edit

I've been to 'Swing Kitchen' couple of times and tried few burgers! I didn't like their Cheeseburger much! Mayo had a lot of lemon acid in my opinion. From the other side I quite liked Swing burger. They are quite filling and quite heavy on stomach!
'Himbeer-Joghurt-Mohn-Törtchen' and 'Mandel-Nougat Traum BIO' are to die for! Extremely delicious!

Pros: Friendly staff , Delicious desserts

Delicious Burger! - Edit

We went here for lunch and had the Chilli burger and the Cheeseburger. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was delicious!! Very filling. We had it with chips and fresh orange juice. It's a fast food type place, but plenty of seating inside. I'd highly recommend!

So good - Edit

We stopped in for a quick burger and loved it. We had the Vienna Burger and the Cheeseburger. Both were incredibly delicious - really wish we had stopped back in here before we left town. The peach tea and raspberry soda were very good as well.

I did have a laugh at wanting to charge 80 cents for ketchup for the fries.

Pros: delicious

Nice burger bar - Edit

I Had the swing burger, that one was very tasty, the fries though were a bit too salty in my opinion. Unfortunately, the tables and the floor in the toilet was very sticky and seemed a bit dirty to me. The staff was very friendly and i liked the decoration, it was very simple and clean. Prices are inexpensive in my opinion. They also only use recycable wrapping, thumps up for that!

Pros: Price, Friendly staff, Tasty Food

Cons: Sticky tables and floor

Amazing!! - Edit

Swing kitchen is located right next to Veganz, Naschmarket and a tea house with vegan desserts called "Sussi Salon de The".
Looks very modern and clean. Staff were really nice. There is an English menu :)
The first time there my boyfriend ordered the Vienna burger (there are pictures of all the meals on their website) and I ordered the "chicken" cous cous salad and got free grissini sticks with it. Both meals were delicious!
The next day he ordered the cheese burger which wasn't as amazing as the vienna burger but also very good, along with fresh pressed orange juice and fries, and I ordered the kitchen wrap. The "schnitzel" in my wrap tasted like the real deal!
We also took two desserts to go: the cheesecake and himbeer joghurt mohn tortchen. Besides for looking incredibly delicious, they also tasted wonderful.
There was a very large line but we didn't have to wait more than 10 mins because everything ran so smoothly.

Pros: delicious food, amazing desserts, good service

Swung into Swing Kitchen for lunch - Edit

Enjoyed our lunch here of burgers, salad and lemonade. The food is inexpensive and satisfying. We sat outside which added to our lunch enjoyment. The server was very helpful. I wish we had a vegan fast food place like this in my home city.

Pros: Low cost, Great tasting food, Central location

Veganschnitzel! - Edit

It's fast food, but doesn't dip to the low standard of most burger places in the US. Skip the wiener schnitzel and Sacher when in Vienna and have a much cheaper and healthier lunch here.

Not special - Edit

I´ve read so much about this place before I finally came there and then I was quite disappointed about the food. The interior is nice but the food wasn´t any special at all. Ok, it´s vegan fast food (that´s a great idea!) but it seems to be low quality and cheapish in a way (with prices not that cheap at all). I don´t really get the hype. There are better places to eat vegan in Vienna.

Pros: nice interior

Cons: lower quality food

Love :) - Edit

Swing Kitchen's branch in Operngasse I only recently visited since it's not as close to my place as the other one. However, it's great there since you also have outdoor seating. As for the food, it's as fantastic (best burgers ever). Lovely people & interior also.

Best vegan burgers ever! - Edit

When my friend and I went to Wien, we went to this place every single night. The vegan burgers are amazing! But the thing I loved the most about this place was the ice cream with the chocolate dip, it didn't taste like soy and it was sooo creamy and delicious. Still drooling when I think about Swing Kitchen!

Pros: Vegan ice cream, Best burgers, Fast food style

Great fast food for vegans! - Edit

Great food and budget proof. Same prices as MC Donalds or burger King. Only much better quality and better for the environment because they use biological products. Also my non-vegan friend liked it a lot. Tried the vegan tiramisu wich was great, but didn't tasted like tiramisu at all. Reaaaally fast service. After 2 minutes you have your meal.

Pros: Go9d for the environment , Totally vegan, Fast service

Cons: Actually non

great find - Edit

Ate here a couple of times whilst in Vienna
I'm not usually a burger fan, but enjoyed these, and the large salad I had with it.
Would definitely recommend.

Pros: great fast food

Cons: it's fast food

Totally worth it! - Edit

The place was totally amazing! I ordered a cheeseburger meal with coleslaw and cherry juice, and all that only costed me 8,6 euros, which was not expensive at all, considering what I got for that! The burger was so tasty and filling, especially the cheese in there, also the coleslaw. I wouldn't recommend the cherry juice though, as the tase was very artificial.
The service was great, they explained everything also in English. And it was quick as well I didn't have to wait even for five minutes.
Even if I didn't order take-away they gave me a plastic cup and fork, burger in paper bag and salad in a plastic bowl. This is one thing that they could improve, but at least it said the plastic cup is 100% recyclable, which makes it a bit better ;)

Definitely worth a visit!

Pros: Delicious burger, Very cheap if you take the whole meal, All vegan

Cons: They use a lot of plastic and paper

nice, quick and inexpensive - Edit

I really enoyed Swing Kitchen. It is like regular fast food where you order ath the counter and then collect your tray when your food is ready. We tried two menus, one with the vienna burger and fries and the other with the swing wrap with coleslaw. The portions are really generous, especially the coleslaw, so my suggestion is to have only one full menu and then order a burger alone for two people if you want to leave some room for desserts. We also tried the sacher muffin which was delicious. I preferred the burgers at I love veggie burgers, but those at Swing Kitchen are a close second. The location is really good as it is close to Karlplatz and very convenient if you want to visit the Staatsoper, the Secession building, the Karlkirche, the Naschmarkt and many other places.

Pros: location, good food, huge portions

Cons: none

Pros: staff, quality, ice cream!

Fresh & lovely - Edit

I loved the friendly staff and the fresh yummy food - all vegan cravings were satisfied from spicy burgers to a smooth latte with vegan Tiramisu!! It's very affordable too and the swing music in the background was fab! The fact that all their wrappings, napkins, cups and containers are biodegradable and eco-friendly is a superb plus in my view! So I definitively recommend this place! Please open one in West London *pretty please*

Pros: Friendly staff, Eco-friendly , Quick service

Good, but not the best... - Edit

Maybe, if this wasn't Vienna with many vegan restaurants, I would be as amazed by swing kitchen as anyone else. But since you have a few vegan burger places in Vienna I must admit, that Swing Kitchen isn't my favorite choice. The service is very nice and friendly and the prices for menus are ok, plus they are completly vegan. They burgers are ok, but that is the problem, they are just ok. Compared to other restaurants here in Vienna they are mediocre and the fries and the salads arn't convincing. Recently they added a new dessert to the card with nougat mousse, which tastes quite amazing, but the rest of the cakes is pretty dry and I definetly ate the worst vegan cheese cake ever there, so this section needs some improvement.

Second restaurant - same, good quality - Edit

We tried this recently opened second Swing Kitchen fast food restaurant and experienced the usual good and friendly staff and delicious vegan fast food. We tried a new addition to the selection - a vegan asian "duck" and were very satisfied. The food was very tasty and also pleasing to the eye.

The usual burger, onion rings and vegan cole slaw were delicious as always.

I am a satisfied and loyal customer!

Pros: Excelent, well balanced vegan burgers, Various vegan specialities (vegan duck), Recyclable and biodegradeable dishes

Get the burger menu! - Edit

It seemed like a cool place but we had already eaten and only came here for coffee and cake and the price and quality did not match.
Friendly staff and the food options looked great. Maybe next time!

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive sweets

Amazing "fast food"! - Edit

We weren't expecting such amazing food. everything was extremely yummy! and not only that but we were taken care off by the greatest service with the most care. Don't miss when you visit Vienna!

nice for a quick meal - Edit

swing kitchen offers quite reasonable prized burgers, fries, drinks. also some nice desserts (the nougat thing!!).
staff is friendly and fast. seating is like a fast food place, not so cozy atmosphere.

Pros: burger menus, desserts

Cons: atmosphere

comfort food - Edit

I got the Vienna burger and onion rings with knoblauch sauce/dip (garlic) and it was amazing. It's just the kind of comfort food I've been lacking since I moved to Germany. Reasonable prices. I loved it so much and I hope I can come back before I leave Vienna!

Absolutely Incredible - Edit

This burger bar has the best atmosphere & amazing food to match. I ate here every day that I was in Vienna & it was more and more perfect every time!
We need this in Australia.

Pros: 100% vegan, Right down the road from Veganz, Wonderful Staff

Cons: A little Pricey
