AMAZING!!! - Edit
DO NOT MISS!!! Amazing and I want more! My sister told me when she heard I would be visiting NOLA that I had to come here - wow! I am so glad I listened to her! So so delicious - esp loved the cornbread , both cauliflower dishes and the bread pudding. We brought in their food and my non vegan friends also loved it! Thanks for a delicious meal!!!

Totally understand why this is top rated! - Edit
Oh my goodness, this meal will live rent free in my head forever! The orange cauliflower and Mac and cheese was so good! Genuinely gutted I couldn’t eat the whole thing. Really reasonably priced and the staff were lovely! If I only I lived closer!

Very good - Edit
This place does not disappoint. Great size portions. I was super excited to find a delicious vegan soul food restaurant in a town that is not vegan friendly, but with great cuisine.

Holy F&@k. Gumbo, cornbread dressing, collard greens, orange cauliflower and stuffed bell peppers. Legit AF. If I still lived here I’d be 250 pounds.

Y'all, the future is VEGAN! 🌿💪🏽 - Edit
Just because we're vegan doesn't mean we don't love food, and NOLA is known for food that truly hits the spot! "Sweet Soulfood" is delicious and oh-so-satisfying! Large portions and quick service - friendly too! I love that they change out their menu daily, so you're always guaranteed something different. We went on a Thursday and had their Cashew Mac 'n' Cheese, Orange Cauliflower (fried and super crispy!), Stuffed Bell Peppers, Sweet Potato Casserole, Jambalaya, Okra Gumbo, and Corn Bread.

Authentic Louisiana food! - Edit
My goal was to eat authentic Louisiana food while visiting New Orleans, and it happened here. Sweet Soulfood is entirely vegan, and they offer many options available here. You order cafeteria-style, and although they were packed, the line moved fast. They are obviously used to crowds and know what they are doing. The portions are enormous; you can share the three or four-choice option. Sweet Soulfood is a great casual choice with authentic Louisiana food.

Great portion sizes and flavor! - Edit
The flavor and uniqueness of the dishes was amazing! We came back twice in one weekend. I love that you can pick from such a variety of choices and let me tell you, two of us split a plate and were so full! It’s a really great option to take to go and have a vegan picnic (there is some casual seating as well). My favorite item was the orange chickun cauliflower (not pictured).

Amazing food! Changed travel plans just to have it again - Edit
Tried this place during Mardi Gras on a trip west and the cauliflower wings and cashew Mac just stuck in our heads for the rest of the trip so we had to get some more on our way from New Mexico to North Carolina. It was pretty out of the way but definitely worth it. Delicious and generously portioned. Fully vegan so everything is worth a try.

Very hefty portions for a fair price. Delicious!! Has to go twice because it was that good. The vegan mac n cheese was creamy and yummy. Some of the breaded items were a bit soggy if the trays weren’t fresh.

Amazing soul food - Edit
We made a special bus trip to go here and it didn’t disappoint. They do different food each day and you can choose a selection of 1-4 dishes. We tried a variety of different dishes and our favourites were the sweet fried cauliflower, jambalaya and the green beans. It was really fresh food, big portions, reasonably priced and great to try tradition soul food.

Options for everyone! - Edit
I stopped by Sweet Soulfood for lunch. I was impressed with the wide variety of options and very reasonable pricing.
Read moreI selected the Pick Four so I could try several things. I ordered the Cajun Curry, the Jambalaya, Mac & Cheese, and Bread Pudding.
The Mac & Cheese was too sweet and not savory enough for my taste (I suppose there's a reason why this business is called "Sweet" Soulfood😄), but everything else was delicious! I hadn't ever tried Bread Pudding before, and I really enjoyed it!
Pros: Wide variety of options that changes daily, Very reasonable prices, Friendly Staff
