Sweet as! - Edit
Came in here by chance on the caffeine hunt some months ago, curious after seeing the "Vegan Food Served Here"-sticker displayed in the window. Imagine my surprise when, upon my enquiry about what said vegan options would be, am told that EVERYTHING is. An instant later the order of a waiting customer is ready and a mocha with toasted marshmallow fluff flies by in periphery.
Read moreLike someone mentions earlier, it is the kind of place you bring your vegan-skeptic friends to try! Wholesome cafe grub; simple as that.
I have tried the peanut butter brownies twice (all in the name of science right!) and they are absolutely divine.
Pros: 100% vegan
Cons: only open during "office" hours, wish I lived closer

Really nice place - Edit
What can I add to opinions below.. . I agree!;) I had chuna sandwich, cheese cone and some sweets. To all of these I talked with beautiful and very nice girl from Sweden, who sold it and advised me. Thank You!:) 💚

Awesome brownie! - Edit
Just had a coffee and a brownie (peanut butter flavour), but both were great, friendly staff. The brownie went down equally well with my non-vegan friend, too!

Best Vegan Bagels Ever! - Edit
This place is awesome. It's the kind of place you take your non-vegan friends to show them that vegans do actually eat yummy mouth-watering food! Everything vegan and delicious. I had the BLT toasted bagel and died of happiness. I can't wait to go back and try another tasty treat.

Unique and tasty - Edit
A lovely place to go to if you're free between their opening hours.
Read moreI love how they change up the menu regularly.
If you go here you need to try their vegan aioli. You can buy it by the pot and it goes so well with sandwiches or as a dip.
Great selection of plant based milks.

Great little cafe with unique foods to try - Edit
A cute little cafe with colourful artworks for sale on the walls, and a selection fo vegan books to read. Easy to miss if you didn’t know it was there. Prices very reasonable. Great coffee and encourage reusable cups with 50c discount for using your own. Had breakfast there and our little kids ate everything too, while entertained by a colouring-in station and toys. Definitely ditch the animal-heavy hotel buffet for this place if you are holidaying in Wellington. Staff very friendly and accommodating too.

That's a good Bagel!..... - Edit
Sweet Release is in a handy location and was a great stop for lunch. I tried the Elvis Toasted Bagel off their new Summer menu. Perfect! The bagel was very tasty and the filling proportions were just right. For me, that's a perfect size meal in the middle of the day and also, any day I can get my fix of Pics Peanut Butter is a good day!

Always love coming here! Great yummy food. Their milkshakes are super good (caramel and chocolate is my favourite they have homemade caramel sauce and it's divine!) they have items like BLT sandwiches, brownies, banoffee pies, cookies with Oreos inside, donut-muffins. And all VEGAN 👍🏼

They are delicious and turning vegan! - Edit
I have just heard that these guys are going 100% vegan in the next month which is great. They're milkshakes are to die for. Not much seating area but the cafe isn't too far from the waterfront/other nice places to sit. I highly recommend the nachos and Al of their baked good I've tried are delicious!

For those with a true vegan sweet tooth - Edit
All the baked goods are vegan, you can get cupcakes, muffins, and tiramisu. Lots of vegan ice cream and milkshake flavours. The Mount Cookie is truly a dessert to be reckoned with - a volcano-shaped cookie filled with four scoops of ice cream, topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.

What an amazing little spot! They have such an awesome range of vegan sweet (and savoury but I didn't try these) treats. I recommend the brownie and the doughnut muffins wholeheartedly. They even make a variety of vegan milkshakes! Lovely staff also.

great choice - Edit
These guys are working hard and doing it with a smile.
Read morePerfect selection, I'd say based on popularity, and not too many options which I personally like as you know there's more chance it's fresh (and it's easier to choose!)
As far as I'm aware everything has been adjusted to be totally plant based.
Only criticism is the savoury pies are very 'bite size', since going vegan I eat much more so would rather pay an extra $1-2 to fill the gap (please make them bigger and just charge more!) ha
I want to see this place grow, so we'll be back :)
Pros: vegan treats by Vegan baker, friendly easy going staff, free recipe book loans!
Cons: no option for a bigger savoury pie

Great little find well worth a visit - Edit
What a lovely little find in Willis Street. Focused mainly on cakes and treats this cafe does have a selection of toasties and dishes for lunch too, using plant based foods.
Read moreWhat is good is that there is no other cafe in this area offering vegan cakes and drinks, so really good to have somewhere handy to go. Do you have to be vegan to eat here? Well I doubt you’d know it by the quality of the cakes - they are DELICIOUS and very decadent. The owner also does a selection of custom made birthday and celebration cakes.
What was lovely was having a vegan chocolate ice ’cream’ and almond milkshake. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed this type of food. Their donut snickers cake with peanut fondant icing was dreamy and certainly didn’t break the bank.
The owner is trying to convert her menu to totally plant based and to make her 'meat eating' customers feel like they are still eating 'normal' food. She has moved herself onto a plant based diet recently so good on her. Tendency to focus a bit much on soya, I personally like a chance to eat vegan non-soya foods. But that said don't let that stop you eating here it is well worth it.
The cafe itself is small, with a Dr Who theme! It only has one table outside in the courtyard for eating so not really a place to hang out and socialise which is a real shame because it is in a nice quiet area off the main street which would be perfect for meeting up with friends. Vincent’s Art Gallery is next door too if you fancy getting creative.
Pros: Good range of food and deserts, Nice handy quiet location, Able to order custom made cakes
Cons: Not a lot of seating
