Quite nice

They had clearly marked vegan options, I wish it had a bit more flavour.
The cauliflower was really nice. The rest needed some salt and pepper. The bread was really tasty.

Disappointing

I went here in 2019 and they had a separate large vegan menu. Amazing food!

Came again in 2022 and it’s expensive (4 vegan main options, £10-12 each for curry only, no rice/naan) and the two mains I tried weren’t that tasty. I’ve had much better veggie curries.

We went with non-vegans and their mains were £16-30 each for curry only!

Cons: Expensive, Fewer vegan options than they used to have

Agreed - we won't be back, the vegan menu feels like a token gesture now compared to how it was positioned when it first opened. Shame.

Good food

We ate here on a recent trip to Glasgow. Having read the reviews and done some research we were really looking forward to it.
The service on the night was disorganised: we waited over 30 mins for our starter and then one of the dishes was wrong. We were encouraged to keep the wrong starter while we waited for the correct one: this was obviously very generous but too much food! The kale starter is AMAZING: monster kale. The cauliflower starter (not ordered) was delicious and the aloo tiki (eaten two days later!) is delicious. The food here is stunning but the restaurant needs to improve communication between the kitchen and waiting staff: we weren't the only diners to have issues and the restaurant wasn't busy.
We will definitely return and definitely recommend this restaurant if, like me, you crave a decent vegan curry!

Pros: Delicious food, Relaxed venue, Central location

Cons: Disorganised service

So impressed with this place. I’d heard good things and it still knocked my socks off. We got the cauliflower wings, the aloo tikki and the kale pakora. The kale pakoras are massive! They could’ve maybe used more sauce or chutney with them but they were so good. The aloo tikki was the standout starter for me, just delicious. For mains we ordered the beetroot poori and the aubergine and pistachio curry. The beetroot poori came with the most delicious Chana masala I’ve ever had. The aubergine dish came with Jerusalem artichoke chips, so yummy. They even have vegan naan breads. Forgot to mention the poppadoms - it’s not often they’re surprising, but they are here! Great cocktail menu and intriguing desserts but sadly we had neither the room nor the time to delve into those. Next time definitely.

Pros: Elevated Indian food , Excellent value, Wine list almost all vegan

Amazing Indian Food in Glasgow City Centre

Decent selection of vegan starters, mains and desert. The kale bahji and Tofu Korma and Chocolate Sphere all amazing. Service was so helpful and attentive. On the pricey side, but well worth it for decent vegan Indian food in the heart of Glasgow.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Lovely atmosphere, Catered for vegan and non-vegan party

Cons: Expensive, but the Tofu Korma is to die for

Delicious Tofu Korma

I’ve missed having decent Indian food options since going vegan and Swadish definitely satisfied my cravings. It was so good to have a classic korma on the menu, something I’ve craved but not found a vegan version of in any restaurants until now! It was sooo delicious and creamy and coconutty! However I wouldn’t recommend the sweet potato starter as it was served cold - not what I was expecting and didn’t rate it much. #Veganuary

A proper grown up Vegan restaurant.

At last Glasgow has a proper grown up vegan restaurant. (I was getting very tired of seitan burgers and chips.) Admittedly Swadish does cater for meat eaters too, but the vegan menu is front and centre and the food is top class. Go there! Exceptional Indian cuisine.
This one definitely deserves 5 stars!

Pros: Reasonable range of vegan wines etc. , Well prepared, clever dishes.

4 stars is not enough

The best Indian restaurant I've had the pleasure to visit and as its relatively new, I'd encourage anyone with even a passing interest in flavour sensations to give this lovely future institution a visit. Each dish was perfectly prepared and presented and the staff were delightfully pleasant. The extensive separate vegan menu was accessible, inventive and had a wide enough range of ingredients/flavour combinations to please even the most particular of diners. I look forward to returning with friends from far and near as soon as I can and I only wish I could award it the five stars it deserves.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, friendly staff, delicious. , Great choices, a high standard of presentation.

Cons: Perhaps a little tool well-lit for romantic diners

Absolutely incredible - 5 stars for vegan menu

Honestly one of the best meals I've experienced in my life. Not your standard Indian food, taste was complex and intriguing, presentation was gorgeous, staff were lovely. Food was indulgent but not too heavy, there was a lot of love put into these dishes from husband and wife team (Jas is vegan herself).

Pros: Perfect

This is a 5 star place

We have been a couple of times and have never been disappointed. It is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. Most recently I had the Tofu Jalfrezi and it was positively divine! Can not recommend this place enough for both delicious food and outstanding, friendly service. A must try!

Pros: Brilliant service, Full vegan menu

I'd give it 5 Stars if I could

An extensive Vegan menu with loads of choice. For starter we shared the tandoori cauliflower steak which came with a wee bit of hummus and for main I went for the Grilled super veg Masala (sweet potato, asparagus, broccoli) along with pilau rice and coriander and garlic naan. Everything was fresh and delicious, and portions were big. I struggled to finish my main even after sharing a starter. The service was great and the restaurant has a nice chill atmosphere. There are a couple of vegan dessert options but I was too full to have anything. I will definitely be going back to try some other things 😋

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: None

Great choice

I had the pleasure of eating in swadish on sat the 7th of December and I must say it was really nice , we all know Indian restraunts can normally cater for vegans but to have one that does tofu and seitan dishes is really good plus you can have vegan naan breads as well the staff are super helpful and the choice is really good they have 6 starters and 6 mains so I look forward to trying them all .

Amazing Vegan Menu and not your standard Indian fare...

Stumbled across Swadish whilst walking along the other side of Ingram St and popped across the road to look at the menu (as you do). Couldn’t believe what we were reading! Immediately went inside to sample the goods and were blown away by the unique flavours and high quality of everything we had. The head chef's wife is vegan, and we were told that the selection would evolve and change regularly. Service was impeccable and there were even a couple of vegan options on the desserts menu. Will 100% be back to work our way through the rest of the menu, and then some...

Amazing choice

Saw a poor review on the same night I went (11/9/19) and had to write to disagree.
The review claimed there was no music, which there was when I went for dinner at around 7pm, it was a little quiet, but it was a Wednesday night and the atmosphere was great. Staff were so friendly, and more than happy to make meal suggestions, vegan options were brilliant, extensive menu with varied options! Can’t relate to the below review about fake meats, starting to wonder if the reviewer has muddled up his restaurants...?
I never tasted the wines however the vegan wines were clearly labelled as were all alcoholic vegan options which I thought was particularly helpful for a restaurant which was not exclusively vegan. I had the cider which was great.
I had the tandoori broccoli to start and the aubergine and pistachio for main which were both amazing. I have not had Nann since turning vegan 9 months ago and was great to taste again 😁 fantastic experience overall!

No atmosphere, poor wine.

Arrived at Swadish hoping for a nice evening out and a good meal.

There were about 5 other tables in but no music playing - the atmosphere was like a library.

Next disappointment was the wine list - 2 vegan wines only, both of which were the cheapest option.

Didn't feel inspired enough by the menu to endure a bottle of gut rot. The options were a bit unimaginative and there were too many meat subsitutes, of which I am not a fan.

Due to the cheap wine and lack of atmosphere, I left without trying the food. Businesses like this ought to try harder and sort out their wine lists - easily done in this day and age.

Huge let down.

Pros: Vegan menu, Staff friendly

Cons: No atmosphere, Poor quality wine

Wonderful staff and very ample vegan menu!

Me and my mum visited for dinner on a Wednesday evening, the staff went above and beyond, both the manager and the chef came and spoke to us for a good while, the chef talked to us about wanting to expand the (already extensive) vegan menu, he really seemed to know his stuff and we could tell he had a passion for it. The food was delicious and look wonderful. The restaurant itself is beautiful too. It's a bit pricey, but for something fancy I would definitely recommend!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Going to expand vegan menu, Excellent staff

Cons: Bit pricey

Amazing vegan Indian food

Swadish has the best vegan Indian food that I've tasted. I had the vegan tiffin which was excellent value for money and included a daal and a plant based chicken curry. The chef came out and spoke to us after our meal to check whether we'd enjoyed it.

Pros: Good value, Friendly staff, Vegan naan bread!

Perfect

This is a lovely place to spend time. I would thoroughly recommend for every type of visit, big or small. The food was all delicious and amazingly good value. The staff were very helpful and let us know that the plain naan is vegan and all the other naans can be made vegan (the mango peshwari naan was lovely). On the lunch menu (£11.95 for 3 courses even at the weekend) there were 2 vegan starters and mains and a raw (and delicious) cheesecake. The vegan food and wines are clearly marked, making this a perfect place to visit for any fan of Indian food. I look forward to visiting for dinner to explore the full vegan menu.

Pros: Clearly marked and plenty of vegan options., At least two vegan desserts., Brilliant value.

Cons: I wish the gulab jamun was vegan.

Excellent vegan menu

My friends and I had a great visit to Swadish this week - cannot stop raving about it! Chef Ajay (?) came to get our opinion of the food at the end of our dinner and we learnt his wife is vegan, hence the excellent vegan menu! Wonderful starters and mains, including two great (!) desserts. Drinks menu is clearly marked for vegan wine, beers & cider as well. Food is exquisite. Fine Indian dining, dishes all beautifully plated. Aromatic, fresh and a feast for eyes and your palate. Vegan naan bread too 😍. Do eat here - not the other Indian round the corner that has a vegan menu.

Pros: Vegan menu, Proper dessert options, Vegan naan

Cons: No take-out

Great Food and Great Service

Had a wonderful vegan dinner at Swadish as a treat. The vegan menu offers many options and new things to try, different types of naan and even a choice of some delicious desserts.
Had a 3-course meal and drink with naan for £25 and am absolutely blown away; would have given 5 stars if possible.
Will be back!
