SuShih Tien Dee

Popular, local standard vegetarian store. Pay by weight. Precooked dishes ranging from the basic, ie; blanched baby bok choy, to the elaborate- Taiwanese pan fried oyster omelette, yet omitting the oysters and perhaps even the eggs. There's even some mala (aka spicy) stinky tofu for those with a more adventurous palate.

Location is very near Shida nightmarket which may be convenient as a last ditch method of feeding a vegetarian friend who hasn't been able to find anything suitable in the nightmarket itself.

Since it's self serve, you needn't know any Mandarin, so it's a good place for foreigners. Enough variety to satiate the pickiest of eaters. I don't think this is th best restaurant of it's kind in Taipei, or even in the neighborhood, but it's spread is certainly one of the largest and the most attractive.

You can eat in/takeout, just be sure to choose the appropriate box.

I like the variety of the food. It's fast and cheap.

Was here on a past trip to Taiwan, and here's my review for happycow. This is a typical Taiwanese style buffet where you choose what you want from an extensive pre-cooked selection, and pay for food by weight. Inexpensive. Popular with students as it is located next to Shida University. It's closed in the afternoon for a break between lunch and dinner.
