Nice Vegan Sushi

Ordered: Avocado Roll, Cucumber Roll, Veggie Roll

Had a really nice lunch at Sushi UMI, they were having their soft opening letting us know it is now under new management and it seemed to be family run. The whole staff was friendly and helpful, the servers helped by talking with the chef to let me know the vegan options they had, which were all of the rolls I ordered, they said they had udon noodles which would be vegan if I ordered it without fish balls, they also have tempura, and some salads and possibly one or two more dishes including the seaweed salad and Miso Soup that they gave us on the house😄 I loved the miso soup and the seaweed salad was good too but is not personally one of my favorites any time I have it anywhere, my guest eating with me really loved the seaweed salad though. The rolls arrived quickly and were delicious and filling, I liked going between the cucumber and avocado every other bite to have a contrast in textures, the veggie roll had a good variety of texture as well, it seemed to be made of avocado, sprouts, seaweed, cucumber, tomato, carrot, radish and some soy based “meat” and possibly something else. There was a good amount of thinly sliced ginger to cleanse the palate between bites and the wasabi and soy sauce is always my favorite pairing to have for dipping. Would come back again if I’m in the area wanting some sushi.
