There are cheaper options - Edit

I like the wide variety of dishes, but there is nothing that really sticks out, and many things are more oily than necessary. Soup is for free as much as you like, so that's a big plus, especially the think sweet sour tofu soup they have twice a week. But all in all, I feel the quality doesn't justify the price. 150 for a regular plate of regular buffet food is just a bit too much.

Good but way too expensive - Edit

They got many good dishes and a decent amount of food options. But is so so so so so expensive!! One bowl of rice cost NTD 15, and your bill will easily get above NTD 100 even though you just pick a few thing. They offer free soup, but still too expensive. I'll eat here if I'm in a rush, but, my money flys. It's also a bad thing for them to keep using disposable tablewares.

Pros: Many options to pick

Cons: Using disposable tablewares, very very very expensive

come early! - Edit

I was going to give this place a 3 star review after my first experience, but now I've realized you must come here EARLY (like 5 PM early) to get one of the best veg buffet experiences in taipei. At 5 the food is plentiful and fresh, really the best buffet food I've had here. By 7:00, everything is pretty gross and cold. Be smart!

One of the larger stores of it's kind in Taipei - Edit

Popular, local standard vegetarian store. Pay by weight. Precooked dishes ranging from the basic, ie; blanched baby bok choy, to the elaborate- Taiwanese pan fried oyster omelette, yet omitting the oysters and perhaps even the eggs. There's even some mala (aka spicy) stinky tofu for those with a more adventurous palate.

Location is very near Shida nightmarket which may be convenient as a last ditch method of feeding a vegetarian friend who hasn't been able to find anything suitable in the nightmarket itself.

Since it's self serve, you needn't know any Mandarin, so it's a good place for foreigners. Enough variety to satiate the pickiest of eaters. I don't think this is th best restaurant of it's kind in Taipei, or even in the neighborhood, but it's spread is certainly one of the largest and the most attractive.

You can eat in/takeout, just be sure to choose the appropriate box.

Pros: affordable, convenient, variety

Cons: fluorescent lighting, crowded, some dishes hard to identify

Typical Taiwanese vegetarian buffet - Edit

Was here on a past trip to Taiwan, and here's my review for happycow. This is a typical Taiwanese style buffet where you choose what you want from an extensive pre-cooked selection, and pay for food by weight. Inexpensive. Popular with students as it is located next to Shida University. It's closed in the afternoon for a break between lunch and dinner.
