Nice japanese food & deco - Edit
Visited in dec 2019. Nice selection of japanese food. Tried their sushi, udon and fried rice. Generally affordable, but probably could be more attentive to clearing the tables. There was overflow of soy sauce in the utensil box.

Great Vegan Sushi Selection, Pricey Noodles - Edit
LAST VISIT: DECEMBER 2017
Read moreMy colleague has raved about the Sushi Kitchen in Relau, so I was happy to learn that the opened one in Gurney Plaza and visited this place with my friends.
The prices seem similar to that of their Relau branch, which is good. The descriptions of the noodles and sushi in their menu really peaked my interest, with unique soups that uses nutritious ingredients. However, when we were served (most of us ordered noodles), I was taken aback by what I was getting – which seemed to be just noodles, soups and a couple shreds of veg topped with sesame seeds/seaweed, looking a lot like what my naked (not pimped up) bowl of instant ramen at home would look like. Still, I reserved my judgement and remind myself of the interesting description on the menu. But after eating it, it seems my initial judgement was not too far off – that these were overpriced healthier versions of instant ramen with a hearty soup. All of us ordered something different, but all the soups taste similar except for the distinctly different ingredient in it (i.e. with spice, pumpkin or such) or noodle type. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. There was no substance to their ramen/noodles with the lack of any other toppings like veg, tofu or mushrooms. The soups were pretty good, but not mind blowing or above average. As for the sushi, I will say it is nice to have a variation of vegan sushi that isn’t limit to cucumber, inari and seaweed.
On another note, they have cakes (from another Vegan Bakery) that are really good! So, if you're in the mall and want some vegan cake, you now know where to get them!
Overall, I found their dishes to be lacking and in reflection of that, overpriced. So, sorry to say that I will not recommend Sushi Kitchen.
Pros: Great vegan sushi selection, Good Vegan Cakes, Healthy
Cons: Lack Substance, Not value for money, Average food

love it! - Edit
So my favorite sweet potato noodle is same yummy as in other Sushi Kitchens.
Family Sushi set. It is great and give you a chance to try so many different flavors in one plate.
Other day loved organic spirulina noodle too.
My favorite seat is at the balcony. They have cozy little open-air garden there.
Pros: charming staff, yummy organic food, location (we go to movies to Gsc later)

Tasty Black God Somen & Good Sushi & Japanese Cuisine Choices - Edit
Every roll of the 7 Spice & G-ken Floss Maki had a generous dollop of vegan mayo on top, and had crunchy raw veggies wrapped in the middle. The 7 Spice ones had spicy crispy floss on top, though they didn’t taste like the bak-kut-teh-kind-of five spices I was expecting.
Read moreThe star of the entire spread we ordered was hands down the ‘Black God’ somen (RM15.90) — the broth consisted mainly of oat mylk & sesame oil, which made for a wonderfully fragrant and yummy combo while managing not to be too thick and jelat. The black somen was super smooth & had a nice bite to them as well, which complimented the soup well. The only gripe is that the portion is pretty small, but that leaves space for dessert or a snack :)
The Sanuki Udon (RM9.80?) was yummy, with bits of tempura and a tasty broth that wasn’t too salty.
The Fresh Lemon Juice (RM6.90) was served in a glass half-full and was pretty sour i.e. almost no sugar was added, so it’ll suit people who really love lemon on its own! xP
Pros: Good choices for Japanese cuisine, Tasty & unique Black God somen
Cons: Kinda expensive for the portion

Vegan sushi heaven - Edit
The owner of Cloud Dreaming (definitely visit that place!) recommended us trying Sushi Kitchen. It was a bit difficult to find since Google sent us to Sushi King (same mall) and there are no maps to be found inside Gurney Plaza Mall. Luckily someone working in the mall knew where it was (third floor) and we were able to find it. As I am writing this, I am still enjoying the Japanese green tea (free refill!) with a big smile on my face. We tried the happy couple sushi plate, wedges, edamame beans, sweet potato soup, fried udon noodles and inari. It was all lovely but the edamame beans and sushi plate were the winners, superb fresh taste and lovely vegan mayo. The whole setting feels so good, they are very conscious by offering utensils that can be reused and they charge for plastic. This place is the future!

finally a vegan sushi concept - Edit
Totally killer Japanese restaurant with all of your noodle and sushi favorites. For once you can go into a restaurant like this and get all of the classic Japanese dishes without having to negotiate your way to Vegan. We came for lunch and for under five US dollars, we had a three course meal, so it’s also priced right.

Loved this! - Edit
I wish I could find a vegan restaurant like this in Japan...excellent selection of sushi, udon, and more. Delicious, fresh, well presented and prepared. A complete delight to eat here. Tip: they were already out of the vegan cakes by late afternoon. **update: Back for cake, and totally worth it! Coffee came sweetened, though, in case that matters.
